I have never visited Carmen Fox before. When I inquired today, I was told that you have to flash your ID to the security camera before you are granted entry. Anyone ever have their Id compromised? Are my confidentiality concerns misplace?

That is a first I have ever heard of such a thing. Tight security?

A business operating legitimately as an adult service provider, asking to verify your age is completely within their right. It is no less different than a night club or bartender verifying you're of age, or a retailer verifying your age to sell you tobacco or lottery tickets. If privacy is your concern, there are numerous massage parlours and independents you can visit who won't ask you for ID and provide you the nod-and-wink services you're looking for.

Kind of funny but I was at the fox den today and they didn’t ask to see my ID…… maybe I visit this place too much lol. Usually you just need to show the receptionist… I assume she verifies the age but nothing is written down or faced into the camera. Also by law you’re required to have photo ID on your person.

There is a HUGE legal difference between confirming something required by statute and storing information against statute. Those who cannot tell the difference not be in business and can be sued for any consequences of violation of the Privacy Act and related regulations. Like if they leak your ID and you loose your job, you have every right extract your wages from the business owneers as well as money for any other damages.

You've got at least four guys here saying that they don't record info, and that they just want to see it to confirm you have it on you. I think that's all that really needs to be said.

You are saying that the camera image is not recorded?

Does a camera have to record simply because it's a camera? No.

Here's something else to consider. The Fox Den has been operating since what now?... 2004? 17 years. In all those years, how many times have you heard about this establishment in the local news? Once? None? And in all of those years, you don't think that they've experienced some sort of violence inside their establishment? Drunk or high guys, guys who feel they're not getting what they paid for, guys who are being too physically aggressive or sexually forceful? I'll bet it happens more often than we know. And yet we hear nothing about it in the news. Why? Because they value privacy and discretion as much as their clients do. If they put it out there that personal information is recorded and given out when trouble happens inside their establishment, their business is over, whether or not those men deserved to be exposed. Something like that simply isn't good for the kind of business they're in.

Again, you can believe what you want to believe. But don't assume that they don't value your privacy, because they have as much to lose as their clients do. And certainly more so than other establishments, since CF and their employees have business licenses specifically for escorting.

So you are certifying that it is not?

LOL of course not! But no more than you can certify that they are keeping client information on record. Here, maybe you can answer this... What good would it serve them to record and keep client information, in a business which values privacy and discression above all else? And what do you believe they would do with your personal information if they possessed it? Just curious about what goes through people's minds about this topic, because to me it's all tin foil hat chatter to me.

Simple non tinfoil hat answer. I am not running interference for them or justifying there behaviour as you are. Simply pointing out the inherent risks and the possible legalities and legal remedies available. Also, not tearing down anyone like you seem to be doing to me. So chill. I am as entitled to my thoughts as you are. And my responses are on point.

Unless they have a high-zoom camera, at the level of light and distance they have there, it's unlikely they'll record any usable info from you flashing the id. All they want to verify is that you have ID on you, because the police can show up at any time to make sure everybody inside is 19+. I always just put my finger on my info and it's never an issue. You literally just flash it for 2 seconds to the desk lady so that she can see you have it. They don't care to read it.

I've been there dozens of times and never had an issue with this.

^Exactly, all they care about is your age, not where you live.

Sure you're entitled to whatever you want to think, but you're more likely to be snapped by any numerous passing cars with dash cams, some person on a cellphone making a tiktok, or some do-gooder on the other side of the street purposely capturing info to report on johns. Because they would all have more to benefit from such actions than the business sharing the same info. But hey, you're entitled to your opinion.

Never had to show it to a camera, just the lady behind the counter. There are cameras behind the counter, but their resolution wouldn't get the ID.
