Credit ratings, is a 900 actually possible?

Or even an 890 or more?

I have an excellent credit rating, but still fall well short of 900. I know others who have an excellent rating, still not one of us has an 890 or higher.
Talking about this yesterday with 7 others, so fresh topic on my mind.
Is it realistic to ever expect to get that high?

Not really sure of the value of having something that high. For mortgages they typically look for 650 or higher. For cars it seems anyone qualifies so I'm going to say credit score doesn't matter. To rent an apartment or house they usually aren't concerned unless you have filed bankruptcy recently.
Mine is around 800 and I don't think I've ever done anything wrong, it's just what it is. A financial advisor will tell you exactly what to do if you want to get your number up higher, but honestly I couldn't be bothered. I've never had a situation where my credit score wasn't high enough.
A friend of mine always says people tell him he has the best score possible, a perfect score. Meanwhile he doesn't even know the rating system.
So good question, any 900's out there?

I'm more curious than anything else.
Its a rating system with hypothetically a score as high as 900, but wondering if anyone actually gets a 900.

"Shoot for a Credit Score of 800, Not 900
A credit score of 900 is either not possible or not very relevant. The number you should really focus on is 800. On the standard 300-850 range used by FICO and VantageScore, a credit score of 800+ is considered “perfect.” That’s because higher scores won’t really save you any money."

Apparently a lot of companies have switched to an 850 system. Learn something new everyday. Or is that U.S. only?

Pretty sure I’ve read anything over 800 has little if any effect on lending rates. I generally fluctuate between 836-844 without any reason I can ascertain. I always pay off my full balance every month and seldom apply for credit products or increase limits. A year ago the range and frequency was 824 to and from 836 pretty much every two weeks. I didn’t add or pay anything off but at some point it shot up to my current level. Not sure if it has anything to do with the slight score bump or lower interest rates across the board but it seems that prepproved credit line offers I receive from time to time have lower interest rates these days.

I believe 850 is in the USA.

Know for sure that mine is out of 900.

What’s the best way to check your cred score? (For free—I’m cheap).

If you have a perfect credit score, chances are excellent you simply don't need to borrow money for anything in any case.

I would think Chip Wilson's score is pretty close to perfect, or maybe Jimmy Pattisons.
And then of course the opposite of that. If you don't have credit cards or borrow money then you likely aren't going to have a very good credit score even if you have money.

Guess I'll never know if anyone has a 900, or almost 900, like an 890 or more.

I've had a 900 creditkarma score for the last 5+ years. I am not a Chip Wilson, Jimmy Pattison, not even close. Make that not even remotely in the ball park. But I do pay off every credit card in full each month, have not missed a mortgage or bill payment for as long as I can remember, and any loans or lines of credit are covered with out a problem. And I pay my taxes when they are due. I do not think its related to specifically your socio-economics but more of responsibility in paying off what you owe. Here is what the 900 looks like. And for what its worth, various money folks have told me a score of 800+ is good, but not that big a deal. It's just a marker as to whether you are good for a loan or not.

Check this Reddit thread about 900 scores in Canada.

This article at WalletHub sums it up well trying to achieve a 900 score.

I guess a 900 score is just for bragging rights.
