Unless you are buying sex worker services from ebay....

Not if its chip and pin which the only way I accept payments by CC. Swipe and manual entry is a disaster waiting to happen. Hard to say it wasn’t you when they put in their pin. Even if they say they gave their card and pin to someone else the banks won’t chargeback, its your own fault for being stupid.

I occasionally get the “I want my son to have his first experience with a SP so can you charge my card over the phone since I won’t be coming with him”. If I feel like playing with the scam I will respond with “No problem, just tell your son to bring government ID so I can get a pic of it close up and one with him holding it to verify.“. Crickets after that. They must think I am stupid.

edit: And for fs never allow tap. Might as well just do for free because you will not get your money.

I use PayPal often for things I buy on eBay. Can’t avoid using it.

I'm in "the music scene" for lack of better words. I just checked two of the sites where I regularly buy. The first site out of the first 10 items listed only 3 accepted Paypal. The second site I checked out of the first 10 items listed zero accepted Paypal. It's unfortunate but people just don't like it.

Like I said, chip and pin and you are safe. The only chargebacks I have ever had were with swipe payments. (Over 3k in one year before I wised up)
