If you guys didn't want people to apply for refugee status then why did you sign the Geneva Convention? It's a legal process that the US signed onto. They can apply, and many are refused and sent back legally at the end of the process. Those with legitimate claims stay. So, explain why this isn't Biden's program, when the constant barrage of "kids in cages" was solely Trump's program? The crisis on the southern border, being stormed by people in Biden T-shirts, is a result of Biden's policies, but it's not hs program? How does that work?...
Those people are making legal claims as per international law, that the US agreed to along with 200 other countries. It's been a legal process in the US since 1882.
The hypocrisy.of bitching about law and order while working to circumnavigate it is striking. At the end of the day I don't think anyone is surprised when the US doesn't stick to its promises or obligations while simultaneously claiming victim.
What's even worse is that many of these refugees come from areas that have been severely negatively impacted by US foreign policy.
The US-backed coup in Honduras ten years ago spawned a maelstrom of violence that terrorized ordinary Hondurans and forced caravans of migrants to flee the country. It was just another instance of US imperialism wreaking havoc on the world.
