Yes both the Flu and COVID-19 are contagious respiratory illnesses, BUT they are caused by MUCH different viruses. COVID-19 is caused by an infection with a NEW coronavirus called SARS-CoV-2 and the flu is caused by infection with an influenza virus.
Calling them the same is like calling a Porsche a Volkswagen.
COVID spreads much more easily, and causes more serious illness in some demographics. It also usually takes longer for symptoms to appear (longer incubation period) and people usually have a longer period of time where they are contagious. We also have yearly vaccines for the flu, to date there is no COVID vaccine. The best proven method to prevent infection is to avoid being exposed to COVID.
Don’t waste your time Shorty, he/she is just trying to get a rise out of you. If people are that stupid there’s nothing anyone can say to help them. Just hope nature/covid takes care as many of them as possible. Thin the herd of as many dummies as possible.

Most of the reputable providers have stopped working now anyway unless they're doing online services. It's hard to take any of this seriously, when kids are still going to school. You can be sure as shit, the government isn't going to point to the schools being super spreader areas, because of economy concerns. And you can't tell me, kids sitting in a classroom for 8 hrs a day, with recycled air is less of a risk then two people in a room together for an hour or less.

I’d be the first to say some of the gov’t messaging has not been crystal clear but as a professional insider that has not been a single case of youth to youth transmission within a school. Every youth diagnosed with Covid-19 had it traced back to an outside source. The schools have done a great job of disinfecting and social distancing in areas within their control. What your child does on the way to and home and off hours is your responsibility. Today and yesterday, I counted 41 youths in my area (SE Wpg) coming and going to school with no mask on. Lead by example people!
