I recently saw this SP who had a camera at the entrance facing towards the main door. Although she told me as soon as I stepped in but it’s something that I never thought of. If yes, is it legal to deliberately record someone without their consent?

Legal issues aside : Get out, don't go back, let other bro's know! You have absolutely no control over that data.
Most likely we have all been filmed on entrance or in the bedroom engaged in carnal acts. It's naive to think otherwise. Best to accept it, conduct yourself well and live with it as cost of business. Women have a right to protect themselves.
Not saying right or wrong, but you should be aware that in most modern buildings you are most likely filmed at the entrance console, lobby, elevator and hallway.

recording just the front entrance is a great idea. I'd do it if my building didn't have security cameras; would be great to have footage to use if shit went south. you get recorded everywhere; as long as she's not recording the act (which I know lots of clients have been known to do) what are you concerned about?

It would be naive to think we are not being recorded. The security cameras just run in a loop. I think we are all safe for most part. Unless you are unfortunate enough to be at a place where some illegal inactivity (murder, robbery, assault) took place, you are all good.
I still get nervous at the idea that cops were looking for 'a person of interest' and my face is all over 6-00 pm news. "No, he is not suspect, but still VPD wants to talk to a person aka take8easy on PERB. BTW, this is his photos, he is brown, yay height, yay weight and he was seen going to a woman's incall who is in the same apartment building and she is suspected to be an escort."

My point is that I would never go see any SP who has a camera inside their apartment to watch on us later. Camera outside the building/elevators are understandable given it is for the security of the building and only building manager has an access to see when anything goes wrong. Unlike SP who can record us for her personal reason or whatever.

I'd be more afraid of them using it as a blackmail or ransom or something. Or even you piss her off (disagree on what services are offered, not a big enough tip or something, bad review on PERB) and she posts it on twitter or something. Maybe not even her, but a handler. He might want a little extra. The possibilities are endless.
Well I mean if you’re afraid of that you shouldn’t go to any incall building with a camera at all. I easily got footage when my car’s window was smashed right in front of my place, they just sent me the file with almost no questions asked *shrug*
I know that's easy footage to get. Not afraid of hallway and door cameras. Only cameras catching the "action". That's a little harder to explain.
Like was said earlier in the post, cameras are everywhere. I doubt anyone could spend a day running errands and not have at least 4 hours of recorded footage happening. But again, That's harmless footage.
I think most people, including the honest SP's would agree with me.

The OP said the camera was trained on the front door/hallway. I do not ever condone filming someone in a sexual act without their consent.
