Perhaps this topic has come up before - but I couldn't find anything.
Some providers insist on references. I get the idea - they are trying to eliminate some of the riff-raff that unfortunately these ladies have to deal with. I certainly get the safety aspect of it. I just wonder how effective it is. Over the years I have been asked to provide a reference. I have dropped a couple of names of ladies I have seen but never went to the trouble of asking anyone for a formal reference and I never gave the impression that I had. It never seemed like a big issue. Lately I have seen a couple of ads where it is insisted upon.

Has anyone gone to a provider and actually asked for a reference? The trouble I have with that is that some providers don't always respond quickly. Some have regular jobs and only do this kind of work sporadically. I find unless you aren't booking with them they also don't tend to be as responsive. I understand this is their living - and there is no reason for them to respond for a request for a reference. Just curious what some others have experienced and if these "references" are a thing.

I suppose some ladies are well established and have regular clientelle and they can afford to be very selective. I suppose they have things figured out then - have to respect that.

The more you adhere to a ladies requirements, the more likely she will accept you as a new client. A word of advise, if you do plan to offer a reference, make sure the lady offering is aware. Just listing ladies you have seen is not a reference as many don't know you from a ph number or a board handle. A reputable provider knows that if she offers a positive reference, it's money in the bank. Sooner or later you will be back to thank her.

Requiring refs is very effective.
More and more are requiring refs, no ref, they will not see you, period.
Most decent ones will be glad to provide a reference, it helps if you send them a tip for their time.
Those who take their business seriously see it as a community benefit to make all of them safer.

Yes...seeing it more often lately. Just curious how willing they are to reciprocate. Talked to one and she won’t provide references - her policy. Surprised me a little.

My first reaction was ...had I done something offensive but no...she was more than happy to see me again. I was surprised as she was super nice to me and is very well reviewed here.
