Is Harper actually active in the progressive party somehow or just giving nods and nays from his
own sidelines?
Hoping here Trudope lands on his feet only to have his head hit the pavement first. lol!!

I'm gonna take a stab that O'toole gets the nod. Why? I have no idea, just guessing that's who
gets voted in.

Harper hates "Wee Petey", and has apparently been working behind the scenes to sandbag his campaign. Odds are, it won't be Pete.
I wonder why that is. Harper would never have become Prime Minister without a great deal of help from Peter McKay. Remember it was McKay that was the leaader of the Progressive Conservative Party that allowed for the merger with the Alliance Party which Harper was the leader of. Wiothout that cooperation, Harper would never have become Prime Minister.

Now I could totally see why Scheer would not be a fan after McKay's comment about Scheer "missing an open net" in the last election.

Having said all that, I think McKay would be a poor choice. I'm originally from the Maritimes, as is McKay, and I'm not a fan of Peter McKay. I don't think his chances of beating the Liberals in an election, especially an early election, is very good.

I like O'Tool as the new conservative leader, mostly because McKay was the guy who put the Sweedish Model in Bill C-36, mostly because of his religious beliefs. At least O'Tool has some Charisma.
Don't count Trudeau and the Liberals out yet. First going for a another election now, in the middle of an pandemic will be seen as political (as there is nothing can be done untill a antivirus for Covid comes out and getting the economy going is going to be difficult with covid still out there not controlled). People will vote for how much is in their wallets and with Trudeau handing out lots of money to replace income lost due to lost jobs and such, he has an edge.
O'Tool's best play will be to wait until Trudeau's time is up, (chances are another scandal will come out) which will nail the Liberal to the wall. O'Tool can come back with job creation to increase the economy and jobs and be seen as paying down the deficit. Which is a Thank-less job.
One thing that has to be done is the loopholes for taxes. The Fed government will cut its budget... good or bad its debateable....
Another thing would be the 10% increase in aluminum export tax to the US. Increasing users in the US a higher price for aluminum until Trumps goes away. Keep that money in Canadian hands not the American government.
Whatever the result of next Cdn government or when, taxes and fees will go up in the next couple of years.

Buy Canadian, not Walmart exports from China. Support your local businesses.

Another things Canadians need to do is to be able to feed themselves. More greenhouses, instead of importing from California. Today people are buying less meat, so grocery stores will charge more for veggies and stuff.

Think Canadian, be Canadian, buy Canadian.....

Also don't forget. If you do venture out a restaurant for a meal please tip your wait staff 20% or more. They get poor wages and with less diners these days they can barely get by. ?
