Since we are in the middle of a plague, I decided it might be entertaining to color my beard. Haven't done it in a year or two. Picked up my normal box of "Just for Men - beard and moustache - Black".

I've used it before, and while it did look a teeny bit ridiculous, I was down for the stark contrast. Followed the instructions: Patch test - check. 5m or less - check. wash with shampoo - check.

Colour looked... not great. sortof a greyish black. But since I wasn't doing it for anything other than kicks, I didn't care. Fast forward 24h or so, and I start to notice some wierd wetness underneath my hair.
Long story short - moderate to severe chemical burn/allergic reaction. I look like the toxic avenger. I had to shave my entire face, which, when you have weeping going on, isnt fun. I'm now on a corticosteroid. Wheee.

I've done some googling, and it seems the latest (+/- 3mo) batch is having a much larger reaction in people than before. there's even a class action against them in the USA. But then again, when isn't there one?

So - given how many of us are treading water these days, I figured i'd post. Let that patch test run for a day at least, friends.

I miss my beard.

It's very possible the formula has not changed. I use this product. When reading the instructions it warns that you Must test the mixed product on your skin Every time before use.
I guess they have found people who were fine with an application were not fine with others.
I have no idea why this is but they did print a warning for us.
Please test before every application.
