Return to work likely months off...

"Return to work will be graduated and likely months off, Trudeau says

...He cautioned that it would be a “few months, probably” before Canada is in a position to consider relaxing protective measures in place that have most Canadians staying at home and many businesses shuttered or working at partial capacity.

And the Prime Minister emphasized current social-distancing and remain-at-home measures will need to remain in place for “many more weeks” for Canada to fight the spread of COVID-19.

“At some point, in a few months, probably, when we are easing some of the measures, we will have to be continue to be very vigilant about our own behavior in returning to work to ensure we won’t be facing a new epidemic or even worse,” he told reporters.

“It’s going to be very, very important to do it in a measured, graduated way that allows for economic activity to begin while preventing severe spikes in COVID transmission,” he said.

Mr. Trudeau said the Canadian government is looking very carefully about how we can move onto the next phase of dealing with COVID-19. He said Ottawa is studying how other countries are planning the “steps needed to think about easing those social distancing rules, to start [their] economies rolling again.”

The Prime Minister said that next phase will be characterized by high vigilance and will not represent a return to normal: “There is no question that once we start to get to the other side of this spike and are able to talk about easing off social distancing, there will be a need for continual surveillance, continual attentiveness on testing, on contact tracing, on protecting our most vulnerable," he said. "That means even as things are able to start getting back to normal, they won’t be back to normal.”

It would be nice if this clears up by fall, and remains cleared up, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Another question is... how long can we shut down the world economy for before absolute hell breaks loose? People are beginning to get desperate already, I've seen people shoplifting food from stores, B&Es are increasing, and I've encountered a few aggressive panhandlers over the past week.

It's a noble act to try to protect people from the virus, but the economic fallout will be quite nasty as well. Damned if we do, damned if we don't...

I think the fact criminals are being released from jail due to the virus - dangerous ones moreso in Ontario - is a huge cause for worry. Makes you think you'd have to do something heinous to end up in jail/prison right now. Being a cop right now probably isn't a whole lot of fun, not that it ever is...

What a brilliant plan. Imploding the worlds economy is already contributing to crime rates going up. Let’s just add a bunch of dangerous experienced criminals into the mix.

What are we trying to do here exactly? Unleash hell on earth?

Another thing... people being forced to remain indoors ,.. yeah make everyone roleplay as couch potatoes away from fresh air and sunlight, while they’re broke and stressed out because they lost their jobs and can only afford garbage food and are falling behind on all their bills. This will really do wonders to their immune systems, another brilliant plan...let’s make even more people develop health issues that will put them at high risk of death from Covid-19

Absolute control has always been the NWO's agenda. Trudeau is their stooge in Canada. He already tried to slide the emergency measures act past the Premiers last week.

If it goes much past April, it could become mayhem in a hurry. If what I read about all the DIY places being shut down there, if you live in Ontario, you can't even buy a fucking 2x4.

I was at Home Depot earlier today, it sure was busy.
Got what I needed and got the hell out of that gong show. Dropped my gf off at her parents for a visit, while I did some errands that I had to do in Kamloops, heading home now. Pretty much seemed like normal in Kamloops, tons of people out enjoying life. I bet the people who are out getting exercise and loving life, out live the couch potatoes who are locked in getting fat and lazy!

I am thinking September. Burnaby cancelled Canada Event already so it is only a matter of days before the other Cities make similar announcements. What really sucks for me is the fact that I will be spending Easter alone and my birthday alone this month. I am also experiencing pooning withdrawal symptoms right now (saving lots of money though) but am really craving intimacy right now. This can't be good for mental health.

So now thinking, do I take a chance with one of the few remaining SP's still providing services or do I still hold true to thinking what idiots they all are?

This is becoming a real tug of war in my head as the only social interaction at work with colleagues is the 2 metre distance rule. How long can we survive this? I am almost ready to tell my boss that I am self isolating for 2 weeks and am going to find a woman who has also self isolated for a two week period to see if I can arrange a hookup.

Why would you care how busy Home Depot is? Don't you think it's all a hoax? Your girl friend and her mother must think the same if you're all behaving as usual.

Way to make the rest of us to suffer longer.

Explain how people are making you suffer at all, unless you choose to?
Much less how it makes you suffer longer?
If you have decided to suffer on purpose, that is on you.
If EVERYONE just went back to normal, this virus would make its rounds, and be done with quickly, just like the seasonal flu.
Dragging it out for longer, is just stupid. The flu kills millions of people annually, but has never stopped me. Hell I rode in a pickup for 6 hours today with a rookie driver, and drove myself around a city for another hour on top of that. Considering how many people die in motor vehicles, I guess it must mean that I am a risk taker. Had sushi for lunch to top it all off.
Sheesh I should be dead already.

Considering the past 20 years of my life, the Corona virus is about the least dangerous thing I can think of.

If you are only considering it for yourself, you sure as hell am fucking selfish.

"make its rounds and be quickly done with" - you mean get the body bags ready? Have you ever listen to yourself speak? Do you honestly feel so strongly opinionated that you think you're never wrong? My goodness, to talk so certainly about something that you know absolutely nothing about - you're a disgrace.

Because the rest of us, who are following medical directives are self-isolating to try to stop the spread, while people like you continue on as usual, keeping the virus spreading.

So yeah, we're all suffering for longer periods because of selfish, self-important people like you.

Also - still waiting to hear the magical news sources of information you absorb that contrasts all medical information we're being given?

Please post your sources for why you think the way you do, and behave the way you do? Enlighten us, please.

You are spot on about selfish and self-important people. They have no respect for the safety of those who are vulnerable and they consider themselves impervious and perhaps thinking themselves a bit immortal, when the truth is they are immoral.

While I started this whole Covid 19 ordeal thinking I was strong enough to survive the virus, and then I read real stories of athletes and younger people with no known vulnerabilities dying from the virus, it was a quick wake up call.

Today out of the blue, a Service Provider texted me to see if I was interested in seeing her tomorrow, after her self-isolating for two weeks, I could not fathom the risk she is now taking.

I am worried about her and others who can't stay the course. While I was tempted to say yes, I remembered the story I read about a young Doctor who put his own life at risk in an attempt to save others. He died. I said no. I hope she fares well.

I think it is tragic that others are not taking the risks seriously.

Keep hearing about “easing restrictions” next month.
Wonder what restrictions will be eased?
I’m sure the r and t parlours won’t be opening for awhile though, if they’re still in business that is.

Anyone talk to the spa owners lately?

The Corona-virus is the first in a series of 4 waves of pandemics that need the corona-virus as a base to effect a 45% decrease in world population. With each lasting 18 months to find a vaccine.

My second answear is 18 months...

Just when you thought it was safe to go outdoors....... (Jaws tune..... ...... ......)

I am working for a larger sized BC employer. Memo from upper manager suggested in best case scenario, the current measures of social distancing and business closure will continue until June, we then will see a slow recovery until 2021.
The worse case scenario, the current restrictions has to continue until October to slow down covid spread, and a slow delayed recovery follows until 2022.
