Many Americans have limited health insurance and don't go to their doctor until their illness is urgent.

I know two doctors practising in the USA. They both tell me they see this over and over. Some cases which would have been treatable aren't seen until it's far too late.

Excellent article.

I spent 6 years in the US and went through the medical systems there and subsequently here in Canada. No matter what certain people say, I found for me that the Canadian approach and system are the best. It might be flawed but it is a hell of a lot better than what I experienced in California and Nevada.

What isn't mentioned in the article is the massive obesity problem in the US, as a whole.

Second - while trying to make the racial divide all about the haves and have-nots, it's more about a lot of people in the black communities refusing to obey rules on social distancing, gathering, and generally believing they can do anything they want. Sites like Worldstar show a lot of it and include conspiracies that CV-19 is a hoax.

Hispanic and other miinorities have as much poverty, but don't have the Covid infections and fatalities black people have.

Third - State control. The federal government in the US has far less power over health care than states. That includes preparedness, policy and funding.

Ten times the population, squeezed into far less hectares of land.
If people would stop trying to jam a million, or 25 million people into as tiny space as possible, and instead get out into the country, their lifestyle would be so much better.
I went for a run this morning with my girlfriend and dogs...we ran down 4 kms of road, and back, saw 1 car with 2 people in it the whole time. If you do live in a city, go out for a hike, fishing, dirt bike ride on bush trails, just get out and enjoy the fresh air, and away from the pollution of the big city...and by pollution I also mean noise pollution. Vancouverites, go enjoy a hike on the Lions, or throw your boat in the Pacific ocean and enjoy a spin.
