How dare we criticize an organization who is making so much effort to help the disadvantaged citizens in our country. Shame on us. Leolist has morphed themselves into a pillar of society. We should be praising them for their efforts.
Yes, let’s all praise a website that isn’t Canadian owned or operated, forces users to have not one but two currency conversions done just to buy an ad, makes probably $10KEU a day in tax free revenue, and then makes a claim of offering help in 4 Canadian cities by giving away warm winter coats. At an average of $12,500CDN per city, that buys you what,50 coats per city? Per year? What a glowing benchmark. It’s also a claim with no actual proof. I hope your post is sarcastic.

Yes I was being sarcastic. it's hard to express tone over the internet but I assumed my post immediately prior to the sarcasm in which I accused Leolist of virtue signalling would have clarified any confusion.

Hey Miss Hunter, people in this thread have calculated LL for a daily ad would cost around either 40-60 CAD or 90-100 CAD.

Could you chime in with your experience?

None of those who did calculations ever posted an ad so it seems to all be speculation. If you could elaborate it would be helpful to us to understand it.

It's been years since I've posted an ad in LL escort section. Last time I was there it cost me about a dollar a day or something. Things have changed significantly.

I only use the massage and Dom&Fetish section. The Dom& Fetish section doesn't have many advertisers so there's no need to bump often. And in the massage section I'm an oddball so I don't bump there often anymore either, as long as my ads are searchable clients who specifically want to see me find me.

I say SpHubby's calculations in post #4 of this thread would be accurate. He'd know. I think his handle speaks volumes...

Community Poverty Alleviation Initiative
January 10, 2020 in Announcements
To our friends, users and advertisers, the LeoList leadership team would like to wish each and every one of you a happy new year

LeoList is incredibly excited for 2020 and what this means for the future of our platform.

As we enter the new year, the safety and well-being of our community members remains a top priority. Part of that commitment includes charitable giving in the regions where LeoList operates.

We’re excited to announce the LeoList Community Poverty Alleviation Initiative, the first phase of our community giving strategy.

This new initiative seeks to combat poverty in Canadian communities – making a difference for those who need it most.

Throughout the holiday season, we donated over $50,000 to homeless shelters across Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal in the form of warm winter coats and winter wear.

The month of giving may be over – but we at LeoList are only getting started. In the coming weeks, we’ll be expanding our community giving strategy to affect positive change throughout Canada.

Stay warm , stay safe and have fun!

A dollar a day? Seems our math was completely wrong

If SPHubby's calculations are correct that means it went up by 90-100 times in the past few years. Not sure if that is true, any one else who has actually posted can comment?

It was about a dollar CAD per bump a few years ago.

Now it’s 4 something EUROS per bump.

However much someone spends in a day depends on how often they choose to bump. Ladies in the LL escort section are forced to bump more often because that area is over saturated and because of all the fake filler admin ads.

And I have seen posts on twitter of ladies having to spend nearly $100 some days.

The beautiful Fraser Valley !

Just curious... but, between PERB, Twitter, and Tryst .
Is LeoList even relevant anymore ?

When I started these Adventures, Craigslist was the go to Avenue .
Then somehow I came across PERB, and really after that the others were only used as a Scapegoat, for how I came across their Ad . Now, I don't think it matters, if You introduce yourself respectfully through the point of Contact .

There's an industry of phone girls. These are mainly female ad posters and call answerers who serve the LL SPs,or their handlers, working out of an apartment.
There's no charge by the phone girl for the ad placement but there is a charge for each customer that goes to (and stays at) the incall as a result of the phone girl making an appointment for him.

The phone girl often combines multiple locations and girls in her LL advertising to get the most bang (LOL) for her ad dollar.
When all is said and done, and settled with the phone girl, the SP doesn't net all that much per customer on average.
The micro girls are in large number mainly on tourist or student visas, making $$ to go back home.

The AMP girls make far more per client.

They have totally been caught posting fake ads so that it makes people who are buying ads to need to "bump" more and spend more money.
Love it when the same pictures are used for escorts and trans escorts....:lol::lol:

Interesting take Sonny, do you have an idea on the break down of numbers? I always thought independents or SP's on LL (Outside of AMP) make far more than AMP girls

In general.

There is a difference between micro girls and up-scale indies (or PERB SPs). The micro girls are often Asian, mainly mainland Chinese, Hong Kong, Koreans and Taiwanese.
They are largely here on temporary visas and work illegally, often for handlers who manage one or more micros, sometimes by themselves with someone leasing the apartment and renting to them.

Another category is the basic indie who work from their home or from hotels. These women are PRs or Canadian citizens.

The MP girls are mostly Asian with a minority of white and are almost always PRs or Canadian citizens. They are independent in the sense they have no handler.
If they are in demand and attractive to the clients, they do very well. They keep their tips, and have no overhead. Sometimes the tips are as much as an upscale indie would get.
A busy girl may see 7-10 customers each day she works. The MP environment is considered to be safer because of multiple people present.

Certainly, the upscale independent makes the most per client, but they may elect to see a certain number of clients per working day, and maintain an individual or shared work space.

Far down at the financial bottom is the SW and car service girl, often with a handler or pimp, and the category most likely to be sadly exploited and abused.

For all of them, their job is sex work; they work for money in exchange for providing sexual pleasure. Even friendly clients are still clients.

Clear concise explanation on the financial side of things. Thanks for that Sonny. Sounds like some of these girls make quite a nice chunk of change for themselves! Bravo

As confirmed in another thread, it appears the majoirity of those fake ads are published by the LL admin! Checking the Alexa Score ,LL only has a monthly revenue of around $150 us dollars nationwide. S obviously there is only a handful of paid advertisers .
It's obvious a lot of the pictures are fake, but if a lot of the ads are fake, what exactly happens when someone calls them?

I can see the logic of posting fake ads to force women to keep bumping their own ads, but if a lot of the ads are fake, and I assume there is no service available when called, doesn't it eventually degrade the brand?

Interesting to hear about the "phone girls" handling posting of ads. Makes sense when the government makes it expensive/difficult/risky for workers to do their own posting.

Charity donations by LL are a great idea but they should divi up the money by community and give to the support groups like PEERS in Victoria, PACE in Vancouver, Stella in Montreal, Stepping Stone in Halifax, Maggies in Toronto etc.

Better still, sex workers across Canada could set up their own coop advertising site and decide for themselves how much money should go where. That could be the start of an organization that supports the work of the child advocate in each province. Fewer young people in sex work would have several up sides and the PR would be great for sex workers.

As for the continued mis-information about the laws in Canada, it as a criminal offence to either buy or sell sexual services in Canada. The seller is immune to prosecution but they still commit a criminal offence. This deprives sex workers of the human rights argument that they should be able to engage safely in a lawful activity. Selling sexual services is presently not a lawful activity. The Harper government may have been corrupt but is was also smart/devious.

I could think about new web-site with:
1. Indies separated from agencies.
2. only verified photos, no fakes.

Anything else?
