They seem like nice kids, so if they want to withdraw from the family business and do their own thing on the Island, please leave them the fuck alone.

As long as they are truly self-supporting and don't expect Canadian taxpayers to subsidise their lifestyle and security, I guess it's OK. I wouldn't have any difficulty leaving them alone, as in, ignoring them.
I don't blame them for moving out of the UK. Meghan has had a rough ride from the British tabloids and it's no secret Harry despises the press. There is virtually a zero percent chance of Harry or Archie ever becoming King; so living in England should not be mandatory.
Was thinking more along the lines of Archie Bunker. But the child looks almost oriental. Certainly doesn't take after Harry. But you never know. Children change a lot growing up

There are an awful lot of them already here in BC, both full and part time.
I know when they visit the RCMP, City Police and the Feds will provide security, but your right, if they choose to live here, the security detail, and obvious costs providing that ,should come from anyone else's pocket and not the Canadian tax payers.

There is always a two man detail with the couple, two person vehicle detail to support security when the vehicles are not occupied, rooftop support in any location that the Dignitaries are attending for more than 20 minutes ( this is usually 5 man sniper teams, both LE and / or Military...2 rifles 3 spotters, and the best of qualifying that year).... Not to mention the permanent security in the residence they are staying at.
Then there is the mobile surveillance team, supporting the boots on the ground...up to 5, but usually 3, and that's if they don't expect any problems.
The team can be as little as 4 when in secure residence, to roughly 20 when mobile ,and in public.
Or.....that's what I've heard anyways.
Poor poor Meghan and Harry. They want to "work to become financially independent." Then they should pay for their own security if they decide to come to Canada. My taxpayer dollars can be spent on far better things than the security of two Toffs.
Totally agree. Victoria would be a great choice for them. That city is so laid back. It's known as the home of the "newly wed and the nearly dead."
No wonder the Prince hates the paparazzi and the London tabloids. Look what they did to his mom. The premier should tell the "toffs", as they are referred to above, that he is prepared to bring about anti-paparazzi legislation if necessary.
Their RCMP security cost will be what annually? A few millsky? Who cares? We should happily pay it. A mere pittance compared to famousizing Victoria around the world for being safe and welcoming.
It occurs to me to wonder if Harry would even qualify for Canadian residency. Would he have to wait in line like other applicants, or would he be permitted to jump the queue?
Britons and Americans don't require a visa to visit Canada less than 6 months. Likely the reason that Megan and Harry plan to go back and forth to the UK.
You still can’t work in that 6 months, they kicked my son in law out because he did odd jobs and banned him from coming back for 5 years.

Why should Canadian taxpayers pay a dime for the two Toffs? If they want to be financially independent they can pay for their own security. As for "famousizing Victoria" their presence would add little to nothing compared to the costs of the RCMP babysitting them.
