In softness, strength.
You people surprise me that not one person in this entire forum didn't even mention a "peep"
about the great game of football. Namely the GREY CUP!!! Yes, CFL not that other thing south
from us. Which reminds me, it must be a no more culture thing as I went out at about 8:30 pm
to pick up more snacks and beers for my guests and turn on Team 1040 only to be disgusted by
what they were talking about. They were yacking about nfl football of all things so I switched over
to AM650.......................Uggggghh they were doing the same thing. Good lord.

On our GREYGUP SUNDAY??? You gotta be kidding me. :puke::pout::pout:

"WTF?!

"YOU PEOPLE"...........................

Sad indeed, as it is the iconic celebration of Canadian culture to embody the Greycup for what it is.
People used to talk about it and have Greycup parties at home and be so hung over for work the next
day they may have not made it. lol...

I'm sure they were in Winnipeg though.

Anyway my little rant for the day. Now.........do I get fired for saying "You People"
I'm pretty sure I wasn't singling out minorities. Just my .02 cents worth.
But lets not turn this into a "poppy discussion". The last one got locked down. LOL!!

Btw, did anyone else notice the two guys in the stands wearing Cherry like Jackets?
They were white jackets with poppies on them and one fella, his back facing the camera it
said Coaches Corner on the back of it. Awesome!!! Loved it.

What a party Greycup used to be. or so it seems. Our party here was excellent and congrats
to Winnipeg Bluebombers for winning. They so deserved it although I was pulling for Ham.
Maybe next year.

Cheers all!!!

Yeah, a shame the Grey Cup is slowly disappearing in popularity, and people are infatuated with the over-hyped, a generally much more boring NFL.

I asked a friend Saturday what time the game was on Sunday, and he automatically answered "10:00AM". That was the Seahawks game time.

Compare exciting Superbowl games vs exciting Grey Cup games, and there's no comparison.

People don't see CFL as a sport anymore. It's all about the money. If the players aren't getting millions no one is interested.

I agree totally but will give a much shorter rant. Every listen to CBC Night Stream? It starts at 0darkthirty and goes until 0600. The show has an incredible array of new Canadian talent. Couldn't they have found some new talent to showcase with the favourites smokescreend identified? I watched it as well and was nonplussed by the halftime show.

It's hard to sell a sport to people when there are no superstars or big names. Shouldn't the league and their marketing and PR departments be doing that?

I used to be a big CFL fan, but the 75% roster turnover every year, lack of stars and the strong run of the Seahawks have permanently killed my interest in the league.

"You People" was started by Jimmy Hoffa. Heard it said in The Irishman when Hoffa was calling out Tony Pro in Prison. So with philosophical logic in place any one that says "You People" is mobbed up with Hoffa and will probably disappear.

I'm so sorry to say JD but this is where you're dead wrong and I'll tell you why. Go ahead and disagree that is your right,
but here's what I believe. CFL is and always will be the true working mans SPORT, just because it is not about
the million dollar overpaid players in nfl. Those million dollar players are all about the business end of the sport.
Yes I'm sure they love playin the game too but not in the same way. Ours is about a true pride of difference between
the business and the working class. Canada game of CFL has just always "felt" that way and I love that fact they
haven't destroyed the game in favour of the overhyped million dollar players.

Lol, of course they couldn't pay those type of wages as it doesn't compare to nfl business style of running the league
they have. It's montrously huge compared to our little Canadian 9 teams that we possess. But damn I'll put the rider
pride of that city up against ANY nfl team if only they could meet. It would be awesome just like when I went to
the 1994 greycup at BC place with the LIONS playing the Baltimore colts were they called? Sent that nfl
team packing back south where they belong. Thank you Louuuuuuuuu Pisaglia.... god love ya man!!
Along with Roy Dewalt and Swervin Mervin Fernandez. Jesus, the hairs on the back of my neck stand
up just mentioning those guys names. AWESOME!!!!
Now if that isn't canadian pride I don't know what is.

I love the CFL game and always will. I'm going through CFL withdrawals now and trying to get my
hockey gears going but its a rough go indeed. Hockey looks like skating in cement this time of year.

Btw, Excellent reply CT and you others guys also. Love ur comments fellas.

LET'S GO LIONS!!! hopefully next year.
