Anyone know what the best incentives are from Ford and GM? Or perhaps when the best time of the year it’s good to buy?
Thinking about getting a new truck soon, or perhaps wait another year.
GM has their preferred pricing on now which includes 15% off MSRP and a Costco member discount.
Ford sometimes advertises Employee Pricing event.

Then there’s the additional bartering with the dealer themselves.

Probably do a factory order as I’m pretty specific on what I want.
I actually need a truck with a box and not one of those useless 5 1/2’ boxes that come on all the crew cab grocery getters!! Lol

I have found from previous experience if you want a good price you need to buy off the lot. Ordering from factory they know they have you and you don't have as much chance to negotiate.

The best deal I ever got on a truck was an advertised special in the paper. Was a great deal to start with and then I went to 2 other dealers and did a bunch of back and forth. Got an additional chunk off the price. They tried getting me into something else (bait and switch) which ws 20% more but I wasn't having anything to do with it. Stuck to my guns and got the deal of my life.

Just my opinion.

Get yourself a job at Loblaws. Huge employee discount at GM and Dodge, not sure about Ford. Aside from that wait for year end and zero financing.

I'm a sales manger at a Ford dealership. Employee pricing is on now, the best total discount off the trucks. The downside is the interest rates are higher (4-5%). Usually in the spring/summer months, the payment rarely fluctuates between incentives.
For a factory order F150, some options for 2019 just "balanced out" yesterday, meaning you're quite restricted on placing an order for a 2019 now. If a dealer doesn't have the exact truck you're looking for, we can always bring one in if it exists nearby.

Between GM and Ford(the 2 trucks I’m considering....staying away from Dodge) would mid summer always be when their best incentives for cash purchase be?
I don’t care about finance rates as I plan to pay cash or use my own line of credit.

And about Ford my ex-wife has a 2016 Explorer Sport that’s had it’s issues, where as my 07 Silverado has been relatively flawless minus the usual wear and tear with age!
Leaning more towards GM.

Also considering waiting until the new F150 plug in hybrid comes out.

Got it pretty good in the construction industry, making decent coin. Not going to change careers just to get a discount lol!

With Ford yes, employee pricing (ends in Sept) is the best cash purchase price of the year. However, the longer in the summer you go, the fewer options you have as inventory starts depleting. June (1 month before employee pricing) is typically the best month to place a factory order as you're guaranteed the June incentives (which this June were very good) but can choose employee pricing as well as that's when the vehicle will arrive. You don't decide until the vehicle arrives so it's a win-win.

You might be waiting a while for the plug-in. Won't be a 2020 model for sure. I'd estimate a late production 2021 model or they might just delay until 2022, who knows.

Have you driven the two trucks back to back? If not, you need to do that!

I heard Loblaws has some good used refrigeration units for sale...after we paid for the new ones. Twice. As customers and taxpayers.
