I don't expect from Liberals or anybody else to clean up all the messes of a previous government, especially if it's not a high-profile issue and wasn't a campaign promise. Taking down bad laws is expected to be harder than bringing them in (for that, Harper government only needed to use their majority and ignore the objections of all the other parties). The Liberals (one of the parties you would vote for) have had several years in power to scrap the laws but they haven't. What does that tell you about the Liberals?
The sex work laws specifically had a high chance of being brought down without a government action, when/if Supreme Court can rule the laws do not satisfy the requirements that were set for them by the previous Supreme Court ruling. It is a slow but reasonable system.
The above does not mean I'd endorse Liberals on a single issue, such as if they promise to decriminalize sex work. But we have more than two parties. I feel it's perfectly justified to remove one from consideration on a single major red flag, such as building more prisons while inventing half-baked provisions for putting people there. Don't threaten my physical safety without a reason, don't mock Supreme Court decisions - very basic requirements for a government.
