The Liberals (one of the parties you would vote for) have had several years in power to scrap the laws but they haven't. What does that tell you about the Liberals?
I don't expect from Liberals or anybody else to clean up all the messes of a previous government, especially if it's not a high-profile issue and wasn't a campaign promise. Taking down bad laws is expected to be harder than bringing them in (for that, Harper government only needed to use their majority and ignore the objections of all the other parties).

The sex work laws specifically had a high chance of being brought down without a government action, when/if Supreme Court can rule the laws do not satisfy the requirements that were set for them by the previous Supreme Court ruling. It is a slow but reasonable system.

The above does not mean I'd endorse Liberals on a single issue, such as if they promise to decriminalize sex work. But we have more than two parties. I feel it's perfectly justified to remove one from consideration on a single major red flag, such as building more prisons while inventing half-baked provisions for putting people there. Don't threaten my physical safety without a reason, don't mock Supreme Court decisions - very basic requirements for a government.

Yeah but did anyone actually go to jail over those sex work laws? Refresh my memory. Certainly not in BC.
Yeah, except "sending people to jail for no good reason" is a topic that affects around 100% of the population once you go down the slippery slope. I didn't say only one bad reason mattered, did I? If you know of other parties who implemented ill-conceived criminal laws, bring it in, maybe I'll join the hate. Fascist states start one law at a time, I prefer to be on the safe side.

Not to my knowledge. But it's the thought that counts. The laws that are not enforced are still doing a dirty job of undermining the justice system and blurring the lines between right and wrong.

As pointed out and to which you responded to nobody has been arrested under the new Prostitution Law.From your statements about the matter it does seem to be a big "red flag" issue for you.

As far as calling Harper and his government a fascist you come off sounding like the typical Intolerant Leftist. Are you now or have you ever been affiliated with ANTIFA?

I have said it before and I will say it again. The laws may be passed by both Federal/Provincial governments but when it comes down to brass tacks it is up the Law Enforcement agencies on how they will deal with the issue as they are the boots on the ground and
have to decide on the priorities their budgets allow for.For the most part Prostitution is not a huge problem and if it becomes an issue LE does crack down on it with regards to street walkers. For the most part the internet and boards like this have taken prostitution off the streets.

Though I am not a resident of Vancouver I am willing to bet that the safe injection sites on the DTES have caused more problems/man hours and investigations for the VPD in both dealing with them as well as the spike in crime associated to them than street level prostitution.

Dude, try not to label people you talk to. I just conclude you are out of real arguments.

Also try to read thoroughly. I never said Harper was a fascist. All I know, repressive governments start with one law. Maybe it's not even enforced. A threat is already a weapon. Then another law. Add targets one by one.

If you nip them in the bud, this won't get far. The history gave enough examples to take it seriously, if people are willing to learn.
