So disappointed in the Jets, I thought of all the Canadian teams, they were the best shot for bringing home the cup. Guess im officially cheering for the leafs. This years playoffs have been full of upsets I never would have predicted.
So true. The problem with Toronto right now is the lack of production from Tavares. 1 goal (an empty net) and 3 assists in the Boston series.

Toronto v Bruins back to Boston for game 7 - IMO Bruins have the momentum and TO is not scoring.
San Jose v Vegas back to Bay area for game 7 - pick em. Tough equal series
Dallas can wrap up Nashville in Dallas game 6 - Dallas ruled Nashville yesterday with most of the play in their zone 2nd and 3rd period
Washington can wrap up Carolina in Carolina game 6 - OV is rolling and a few Canes stepped out of his way to let him get the puck behind the net. FML.

So let down again by Canada's epic cup drought. Only team left to root for now are the Brooklyn Islanders.

Holy flying fuck!

That Vegas/SJ game seven might have been the most amazing single period and overtime I've ever seen.

Tough way for Vegas to lose. Was the cross check on Pavelski worthy of a five minute major plus a misconduct? He did fall awkwardly and was hit by a second Vegas player. The fall to the ice was what caused the injury not the cross check.

Two cross checks by two players should have made it two players in the box two minutes each making it a five on three for two minutes .....

San Jose really turned it on and the rest is history.

The NHL keeps losing credibility with me. The most important play in the series should have been a 2 minute minor, at best, if they actually used the instant replay for something important. No fan of Vegas, but they were robbed.

I agree 100% The penalty sucked the life out of Vegas. Pavelski was already hurt and falling face first is what did him in,not the 2 min crosscheck. Since im not in any pools and all the Canadian teams are gone my interest has dropped a lot. Im really disappointed in the effort the Jets and Leafs put into it, Calgery I could see coming a mile away after watching game 1

Round 2

Humbled to admit the only series I called right was the Sharks. Both Stanley Cup finalists from 2018 are out. It shows how much parity there is in the league now.

Boston v CBJ

CBJ

Carolina v NYI

NYI

Dallas v St Louis

Dallas

SJ v Colorado

SJ

I'll say the final pair will be NYI v SJS

Tavares will be choked lol. Oh the irony of jumping on the Leaf bandwagon. Brian Burke called it right last night saying the Leafs are fucked now with 4 players having 50% of their Cap limit.

As a lifelong Canucks fan I can't say I am upset with the Leafs Cap mismanagement!!! Babcock is over-rated, but has an awesome name for this site.
I think I had two series right in the first round (Isles and Bruins), but am not proud of my prognostication.
Round 2; Avalanche in 6, Blues in 6, Isles in 7 & Blue Jackets in 7.
Round 3; Avalanche in 7 & Blue Jackets in 6
Finals; Avalanche in 6 (Really don't want Torts to win even though I admire his work with dog charities)

They weren't robbed, they got spooked, and gave it away.

Good, balanced and in control teams don't give up three straight goals in that situation. For one thing, the coach should have called a time out after the first goal. SJ was on an emotional high after the Pavelski injury, and LV should have been counselled by their coaches to reign in what they were feeling, and play the game that had them in control through 2 1/2 periods.

Maybe the LV players were distracted by the mother/daughter Stormy Daniels wannabes behind the SJ bench.

I agree, give San Jose credit for taking advantage of it...the momentum starting rolling and LV couldn’t stop it.

The point I am making is that they have the technology to get the call right. If the ref is not sure what happened go to the replay. I just think they are ruining the game by using the technology in the wrong way. Did you ever notice that every time a goal is scored the first thing that the opposing coach does is look at the video monitor at the bench to see if there is anything to challenge? What’s with that? There shouldn’t be a video monitor on the bench to second guess everything the refs are doing. It should be based on its own merits on the ice.

I agree. There are far too many challenges that are ridiculous in a game as fast as hockey.

Drives me crazy with all the stoppages for challenges, and good goals waved off for a miniscule fraction of a centimeter offside that no human could determine. Offside calls should not be challengeable.

High sticks and dangerous plays, especially where there was an injury, should be looked at.

The injury to Pavelski was an accident, and those sets of circumstances happen on probably 50% of faceoffs, but don't align to cause any injury.

It's just like the incident in the NFC Final that sent New Orleans home defeated. Every replay clearly showed the Ref missed the call.

Now Vegas also has rights to protest getting these type of calls in Game 7 of the series.

Clearly both scenarios could be taken care of with the Refs getting video assistance in real time. There is so much at stake that they have to address human error.

Is anyone still watching?
These playoff matchups are about as bland as can be. Only one team I can feel passion about and its passion as in can't stand Boston Bruins.

I think Canada is focusing on the Raptors teams, they are fun to watch. Did you guys watch last night? The Sixers just shut them down, who now don't look too stinkin bad. Bad ass team, with Jimmy Butler showing its not all about Kawhai.

I'm watching and the first series were excellent while like you say the second round is a bit slow or dump and chase hockey which sucks the life out of a game IMO.

These four series are all really close.

I lost interest. Even the US teams I might give a damn about are all gone now. Maaaaaaaaaaybe San Jose breaking out of their "choker" curse might be nice to (finally) see, but it doesn't compete with other things I could be watching.
(*And basketball is definitely not one of those things.)

A remakes of the 1970 stanley cup finals and not a word about it here.
what gives? Boston and St Loo
I can't wait for this series of 7 games to go the distance and will be a barn burner.
