Delay between pm’s?

Just wondering why you have to wait 60 or 90 seconds(can’t remember which it is) between pm’s or posts for that matter?

For posts I could see it as a prevention from throwing up spam but PM’s? What’s the deal?

Not a huge issue but can be annoying at times!

Without a safeguard like that, bots can spam PMs. It would be a channel for broadcast advertising among other things.
