When a provider asked you your ethnicity

I think it’s a fair question to ask, especially if discretion or feelings of safety are on the line but I also feel like there are ways to go about asking it:

“Tell me a bit about yourself...”
“Please note that I do not see men of x y z descent for discretionary purposes.”

And honestly if a dude has a problem with it, just move on. Lying to the lady only wastes her time and potentially means a crappier session for you (assuming she goes through with it) if she’s not at ease. She’s not obligated to see you so deception is just plain foolishness.

I’m half white half brown and was born here but have been told I look middle eastern. If I see an ad mentioning the above, I avoid it. If I’m really not sure, I always send a fully transparent text asking. Saves both of us the time and prevents me from looking like a liar.

Sorry, but this is just wrong. Canadian is an ethnicity. People are confusing ethnicity, nationality, and for lack of a better word race. I would answer Canadian and if someone required further information I would just take a pass because it's just not worth my time at that point.
Explain why Italian is an ethnicity but Canadian is not? Seriously I would like to hear a plausible answer from anyone.

Thanks for posting that but I'm not sure you know what it means. What you just posted clearly shows Canadian is an ethnicity. And please don't side step my question. If Canadian is not an ethnicity how is Italian an ethnicity.

I think it's a matter of IDENTITY and Nationality, not Nationality and Ethnicity.

Canadian identity as a concept is sort of on rocky grounds.

It does get confusing and people make assumptions, don't they? I'm just curious where people get this idea or belief that Canadian is not an ethnicity? I think because they make the assumption of ethnicity somehow being being related to what a person looks like and overlook language, culture, history, etc.
So back at it, if Canadian isn't an ethnicity, someone please explain why.

Canadian nationality is not really an ethnicity, it certainly isn't an ethnic descent, as most Caucasian Canadians have not-so-distant ancestors of various Irish, British, Scottish, French ethnic backgrounds, only a generation or two ago. So if you mean Caucasian, or European Caucasian by saying Canadian, best to just say Caucasian or European, at least in the context of inquiry from a SP - they care about your race, appearance, and cultural habits, customs and etiquette, not what your passport says.. you're not trying to cross international borders here. Frankly if you say Canadian but you're basically a Chinese or East Indian dude, I'd think you're trying to hide that fact for some reason.

Exactly thank you! I just think he is dancing around the subject ..Your statement is clearly accurate just by his first reply to my tread I can tell that he is part of an ethnicity/race and clearly take offense that provider can choose who they want to see
