I worked for a few years on Cape Breton Island and, with the possible exception of Newfoundland, you will not meet a nicer bunch of people.

These people are clearly very happy to be getting their jobs back. And keep in mind that people working in call centers are paid relatively low wages. It shows that even a modest living can bring happiness, it all comes down to managing your expectations.

Cape Breton?? Their ancestors created the Sydney tar ponds that sat years waiting to be cleaned up. Wanted federal Canada to pay for the clean-up since the damage was done by a Crown Corporation, performed by local employees.

Their ancestors eh? Well that does it we should burn them all instead. Don't suppose your ancestors have any skeletons in the closet?

A cousin of mine doing extensive genealogy thought that a common bawdy house on my family name was run several generations back and figures that my father's mother was illegitimate since her "father" and mother were thousands of miles apart during the year before her birth. Saw Cape Breton long time ago. Pleasant looking rural community but likely developed quite a bit since. The circular discussion about responsibility for tar ponds was always uninteresting for me the way that local residents inflicted the damage and would be expected to be disciplined and/or pay some costs if government responded to local cries pay for clean-up.
