Passing through next week...
Looking for a decent place to stay and what to do from 3-4 pm till bedtime.
Friend recommended The Nines...but at $800 Canadian for a tiny room...gonna pass

Park Lane Suites & Inn has very reasonable rates and pretty decent quality.
It's a safe area near a small university.
As far as entertainment, I would recommend checking out Casa Diablo or Acropolis.

Portland? Wasteland other than nature.
I usually stay near the airport for cheap rates and clean room. Drive into downtown is only 15~20min without traffic.
They have some good funky restaurants. Bars/pubs been disappointing. the most strip clubs per capita in US.

How was your trip?

Staying east or north of town on the MAX line can work well. An easy ride into town. There is also a fine hostel right down town.
