The Queen of Soul has passed. She had such a beautiful soulful voice.

So many great tunes spanning decades!

RIP. Aretha

The beautiful Fraser Valley !
That's sad News !

Her Songs, filled the Airwaves of Childhood, and stick with You for Life !

Thanks Aretha, for all the great Songs, You left Us !

RIP !

Cheers

P.S. That's the first of Aretha's Songs, that popped into my Head, after I read your post Triple B .
A fitting Selection, of one of her Classics !

State of confusion
I read her obituary today and was surprised to learn that she and her father made a significant difference with their financial support of the civil rights movement. That woman worked hard and paid her dues.

Never saw the Blues Brothers?

actually, no. I didn't like the overacting in it... What a beautiful lady though, I wish I had shown more respect but isn't that just how it usually goes....

my whole life, I didn't even know she was still alive

Aretha was also part of the "Muscle Shoals" Documentary in 2013 .

Some Classic Hits, came out of that Studio, including Aretha's!

It was on Netflix, but, unfortunately They've removed it .

If You're a fan of Music, definitely a Documentary, worth seeking out !

Cheers

Start to look at your own mortality when the music dies....

That's ok it was an acquired taste with the acting being farcical based upon the Saturday Night Live skits way back when. Music was great if you like blues, R&B and even some country :p

Not a fan of her music. That being said I will say she was a huge part of what made the movie "Blues Brothers" as wicked as it was.So many good talented people in that movie including Cab Calloway/John Lee Hooker ETC
