I've been advised there is a badbadboy imposter contacting SP's via email.

I won't go into details but this person is promoting themselves as someone who can increase their business and is trying to circumvent the normal SP security by using my forum name.

I recommend if contacted, SP's request this person PM them on Perb to prove their ID.

Happened to me a few years ago when I was reviewing.

An SP friend, the only SP who knows my board handle, was contacted by someone saying he was CT on perb, and would give a good review if she discounted her rate. She told him to fuck off, and contacted me. I have no idea how many SP's he may have contacted, and got away with it. No way to stop it, as far as I can see.

You don't have to be a "Paid Advertiser", to use the PM Function ?

Somebody trying to tarnish anyone's Reputation, really sucks !
But, Scammers, and Low-Lifes seem to thrive on these Opportunities ?

This is the second time it's happened. I didn't do anything about the first time. I wasn't going to post this time either.

I was discussing this with a lady I've seen many times and she pointed out that not all SP have good security checks in place. Her words, "what if he does get in the door and becomes a bad date?" That made me post this time.

Anyone with an account here can use the PM system being an advertiser or not.

Making the imposter use the PM system is a sure way of flushing out this scumbag. It's like the two step security on gmail or iCloud. Obviously the confirming PM will never be received.

Someone in Winnipeg did the same thing years ago.
Maybe they are trying to bypass normal screening, which makes me think they would fail normal screening.

The intent was to circumvent normal reference checks in lieu of a positive review.

Strategically had chosen someone I had not reviewed but to their surprise, the SP acknowledged knowing me well. Busted!
