Country Western club near USA border from 35 years ago. Anybody remember it?

I had gone to the coast to visit a friend. One night we walked to Richards on Richards, it wasn't far but I don't remember where THAT was either.

Then another night we drove quite a ways and ended up at a C&W bar near the border. Like rock throwing distance as I recall.

Anybody remember where it might have been?

Long shot I know but some of you are long time residents.

The Tutor In on 176 and 0 ave had bands back then. Richards on Richards was at Richards and Nelson, next door to CFox which was on the SE corner.

I remember that bar, but not as the Tudor Inn- something else? Or maybe I was just too oiled to remember.

Was great for nabbing young Yankee chicks from Blaine, Birch Bay, Ferndale, sometimes Bellingham and even some of the more "religious" school girls from the Lynden area that were also using the 264 crossing into Aldergrove. They would warm up at the Alder, then loop over to go home through the Pacific crossing because the 264 closed at midnite

Yup....those Lynden Dutch girls were something to behold, when they just turned 19 and came to Canada to party.
Abbotsford, Langley bars used to have a good population of them.

Been thinking about this since I posted it. It was somewhat of a drunken blur. I remember we got kicked out of Richards because I broke the arm on the arm wrestling machine.
MUCH to this shy country guy's embarrassment!

We walked straight east for 15-20 minutes to his apartment. Then I think we went way to the south east from there (next night) to this club. Because I wasn't driving I didn't pay much attention to where we were actually going.
I remember being on a freeway going east then turning south for a couple miles past the odd house, then turned west for a bit. There it was. I only remember that part of it as, after we left the club (with a few ladies we'd met) the dipshit driver, instead of going down the frontage road to a freeway access, decided to 4x4 through a steep ditch... in a little car. Planted it into the bottom. Stuck.

I vividly remember the walk back to the club and a phone ... piggy backing the girl who was in heels.
And berating the driver.

EDIT: I just Googled Richards street and 20 minute walk (drunk) from there is still pretty much downtownish, a LONG way from the border. It couldn't have been by the border. It must have just been rural ... somewhere. lol More things are coming back to me about that night but no names. I'll never figure it out lol

I think you are talking about the Breakers in Pt. Roberts (stateside).It was massive but it wasn't strictly C&W. They had quite a few headline acts play there. Always hosted pig roasts and show and shines too. Great memories from that place.

The Breakers...great memories!! Gene Kiniski, the long time wrestler, along with his son Nick were the last owners, if I remember correctly. Unfortunately ran it into the ground.

In its heyday some renowned bands played and or started there. BTO was basically their house band in the early years. Colon James, Loverboy, Long John Baldry, Barney Bentall, Chubby Checker, to name a few, all played there....good times!!

Perhaps you were thinking of Boon County in Millardville @ Brunette by Hwy1, we used to buy buckets of beer for last call and get plastered at closing time.

There was the Shanty Town ( "Panty Town" ) now a hardware store by the tracks just south of Blaine
The Palms in Birch Bay with Josie who was the big titted dolly Parton owner from Richmond
Bills Tavern where Loretta Lynn got discovered always good for a weekend fistfight

Point Roberts:
Was always fun on a long weekend at the Breakers 1500 drunk dancing people and the Reef next door owned by "Canada's Greatest Athlete" Gene Kiniski

The Tudor Inn Used to be a great pub with a Ukranian restaurant behind it ( The Borsch Nest ) Good food beer and peelers,
then it closed for 4 or 5 years and is Now the Bennet so so food 12 + beers on tap but nothing special...

There was a nightclub next door before the "new" drinking laws killed it used to be called Smugglers then went through several other names...

4 young guys in cowboy hats and boots in an old Cadillac pissing on the side of the road in Blaine, Sheriff pulls up gun out, gives us all kinds of shit, escorts us back to Canadian truck border, back in Canada 100 meters over the border more beers at the Tudor then back into USA at the Peace Arch crossing and partied all night Man how times have changed...
