Almost had a head-on collision today. I avoided it, but what do you do when a car crosses into your lane and starts coming towards you? I honked my horn and the woman didn't even look up from her phone.

I luckily I had room to get off the road and not hit anything, but she never looked up until she was just going past me, when she over-corrected and jerked back into her lane, again luckily not hitting anyone. Right near an elementary school, too.

I was scared and fuckin' furious to be almost killed, or hurt for something so pointless. I ended up in some mud and it took 15 minutes to get out of the weeds and back onto the road.

Saw the colour of the vehicle, but couldn't get make or description, so no point reporting it. Stupid drivers seem to be getting stupider.

Sad thing is this is becoming prevalent on a daily basis.

Turning left on the Clark Dr, I waited for the light to turn red.

Sure enough a texter flew through the red. I saw it happening and didn't move til she had gone through.

any citizen can issue a traffic ticket, via the RCMP, as long as you're willing to go to court. You can talk to police and ask what is an appropriate ticket and they will issue it on your behalf. I have done it on two occasions and the people paid the tickets, without dispute, and I didn't have to go to court. The Officer let me know that "MOST" people do not dispute them. All you need is the licence plate # and actual drivers description.

I second that comment. Mainly for peace of mind in terms of an accident dispute when the other party lies about the accident. (assuming you are in the right) also, good for parking monitoring, hit and run or vandalism.

Dashcams might be standard equipment soon. I have one and might get another for my rear window.
I got rear ended in broad daylight while stopped at a red light.
First thing the girl said was " Oh no my mom is going to kill me, I just had an accident". She didn't see me, cars stopped in the other lane, or the red light. At least she hit me instead of a pedestrian.

Maybe roadside seizure of vehicles when drivers are texting?
Every day you see many close calls due to texting. The people doing it refuse to stop.

A few weeks ago I saw a guy with a 8x10 tablet stuck to his windshield, watching TV while driving!

Same thing to me a large black pickup veered into my lane suddenly and the beaeded driver was looking down into his lap, I swerved and leaned on the horn good thing no one was beside me.

I encourage people to report it and issue tickets. I have training in road safety and there is no excuse for the flocks of ignorance on our roads.

I am all over that , I will never forget stopping a woman doing 60 in my kids 30 school soon after she passed me , I whipped some serious road rage words on her
now I know I can actually report thsi crap will be all over it

Texting while driving is as stupid a a BJ in a moving vehicle it is just asking for a quick death or Life alteirng vasectomy the worst part is when these people take innocent people with them
