James Franco was great in the first season of The Deuce where he plays a set of twins. I found out recently that the twins are based on real life characters that existed at the time and place The Deuce is set in.

And now I just watched the following trailer for an upcoming movie:

I swear that Franco is almost unrecognizable! I would like other peoples opinions on this forum as to whether he is wearing some kind of prosthetics on his face or if he is able to make himself look so different simply by virtue of incredible acting?

127 Hours the true story of Aron Ralston played by James Franco.

I didn't know the whole story but I knew the movie was based on a book. An outdoorsman becomes stuck while he is out canyoneering. Eventually he has to amputate his own arm but he does survive. The movie was interesting because you saw Franco struggle to survive then actually save himself and be rescued. Not enough of a story line for me but still, an interesting true story.90min

That trailer looks great, thanks for turning me on to James Franco. What do you think of this trailer?

LOL I saw that movie shortly after it came out on video. Totally forgot that James Franco played the main part. I don't think I was aware of him at that point in time. I first became aware of Franco with the controversy caused by him co-hosting the Oscars with Anne Hathaway:

After that, I had a negative view of him until I started watching him in The Deuce.

Yep, I was never impressed with him until The Deuce. Doing a great job on that show.
