I contract guide for Government Wildlife, Search and Rescue, Forestry, and occasionally the RCMP.......my weapons I tend to carry are simply overlooked by the individuals I'm guiding.
They do notice them after a few days, and are never mentioned, even in Provincial Parklands.......I got one handgun confiscated once, went to court paid the fine, and got it back.
I don't have much experience with Moose, as I live in the Highcountry, that lacks the water, and it's the terrain I know well so that's the type of Guiding I tend to do.....I also can't swim worth a shit, so I avoid water.
And your right about Grizzlies surviving multiple gunshots......I skinned one with 3 healed wounds from some sort of .30 Cal from a few years before.
Is it just me or anyone else have this vision of The Mantracker whenever I see your posts Sybian lol

I'll take that as a compliment Sir.......Truth be told I'm not that great of a tracker, if you want to find a human, and they are alive, most simply want to be found. It's also in our nature when distressed to head downhill, so I look in the valleys with waterways....it's more physiological than skill. At night if you head up on a high point a small fire can be seen for miles, and a lost person would give his left arm just to have a fire at night.....they will start one if they are able every time.
When looking for people that are suspected deceased....the animals and birds tell you more than the dirt disturbed on the ground, and a dog or horse will lead you in the right direction.....you just need to be aware of what they are trying to tell you.
