Well that's comparing apples to oranges. The cost of living in Montreal is exceptionally cheap compared to Toronto. A downtown condo is affordable and rent is even cheaper as is electricity. But, on the flip side taxes are much higher in Quebec. The cost of your vehicle registration can be $400 a year. Taxes on high income earners are higher than in Ontario. Go check out the forums comparing living in Gatineau QC versus Ottawa Ont. Toronto pooners might not go nuts if they took a job in Montreal and had their salary slashed and their taxes increase 4 grand a year.
I've spent a considerable amount of time on merb and I don't hear the Montreal guys complaining either.

Well it's possible they look at prices in other markets and feel they're getting a deal but they don't do an income to SP cost comparison. Perception is everything in this world. I've worked in and visited Montreal many times. I've always felt they had a far more open minded mentality to things like paying for sex. And at the risk of starting a flame war with someone in Toronto it's not always the happiest place on the planet ;-).

Montreal is by far the best place in Canada for this.

It is also the nicest large city in Canada. Reminds me of what Vancouver was like in the sixties and seventies.

Leolist ads may be a scam, but Leolist isn't offering a service to you. Their direct clients are those who pay for putting up ads. If the ad doesn't satisfy you then simple economics says you shouldn't see those girls. You think to yourself "these ads are so fake why would anyone see them"... well they wouldn't be up if they didn't have a constant stream of suckers going to them. If one guy gets 'scammed' then the next time he won't. People don't need reviews to avoid shit like this. It shouldn't require a few months of research to figure out which girls/ads are legit or not. I think this entire topic is a non-starter TBH.

Seems like we can't go a week without someone complaining about pricing. Pooning in Vancouver is UNREGULATED (economist dream come true), so pricing is pretty much exactly where it should be unless you think SPs are meeting up and colluding to keep price high. If you think it's too expensive then chances are that means she's too expensive for you, but not someone else. If she feels like she can't make enough money at that price then maybe she'll lower it, but I'm not sure on what authority you're able to dictate the prices as being 'over the top for anything decent'. If I make seven figures and get maximum enjoyment from the $300+/hr ladies can I consider pooning in Vancouver cheap then? You call Leolist ads fraud... I call it market correction.
Any educated person knows how free market works, but it would be too simplistic to use this concept in our case. When deliberate fraud is involved, it's not about free market any longer, but about criminal activities - and this works way differently. And fraud directly affects the pricing, and definitely not in our favour. Here is why...

All these fake pics scammers, and even those with 'real' pics lying about their age / services / body stats are not after happy / repeat clients - they know most of their clients will never return due to the obvious reasons. These SPs count on defrauding as many pooners as possible for as much cash as possible. So considering sub standard 'services' scammers provide (low or no value), their prices are grossly inflated by definition as they usually don't stand a second chance with their clients and don't care about client retention. Legit SPs (who don't use misrepresentation at all) are rare, and tend to charge outrageous prices for ordinary services (nothing upscale or outstanding) just for the fact of not being scammers. This has nothing to do with free market / competition. Criminal activities (fraud) are always way more profitable compare to actually providing quality services and competing with other providers. Quality service providers can't compete with fraudsters as scammers' profit margins are incomparably higher. So they just hike their rates as the whole market is artificially inflated by fraud.

And who facilitates fraud? Leolist in the first place. Any legit / reputable board would never tolerate scammers, and would immediately ban / moderate any misrepresentation / insufficient information by their advertisers. Not the case with Leolist which 100% tolerates fraud unless advertisers are willing to get verified on their own.

Stop the fraud and get affordable SP rates which would reflect the average income in Metro Vancouver. It's all that simple.

I've always thought the quality and service of the ladies in Victoria was top notch with the pricing substantially lower than Vancouver.

I was going to ask about the current Victoria market. I worked there for a year after having worked on the mainland for a few years, and found that the rates were definitely lower there, back then.

And really... Where the fuck does this recurrent idea that sex should be affordable come from? That is just plain idiotic.
This statement is so bizarre that I can't even figure out how to come up with a counter argument. Could you, please, explain first why PAID sex should NOT be affordable?

Just use reverse image search on google to see if a pic is fake, Asians are almost always fake, even their "real" sign photos are fraudulent sometimes. But even lots of perb members here will still patronize their business, a few members here don't care about fake pics, they think that the photo will resemble the girl in most cases. That's why girls still do it, and some of them say they do it for discretionary purposes, but who knows.

And no one can help you if you're not willing to pay a premium for an insanely hot girl who cares about service, sorry, but this isn't Thailand or the Philippines, there aren't enough desperate Vancouver girls here willing to fuck random strangers, multiples of them, for less than 300 dollars an hour. They would barely get by if they were charging 100 dollars an hour, and would be worked to death from seeing many clients daily, why would they still want to live in poverty or borderline if they are choosing to sell their bodies? At least if a woman chooses to sell her body for her income, she should be living comfortably, in my opinion (unless shes a druggy then that's a different story). Maybe most of them are on drugs? Maybe that's why they choose to do this, and don't care at all about service? Who knows, it seems to me you'd be happier in South east Asia where you can take advantage of their impoverished situation, and get cheap sex with young desperate (but hot) girls. Society doesn't like this profession, they don't approve of this lifestyle, so of course there is going to be a premium placed on value and lots of discretion, like no face pics etc, and on LL you aren't allowed to post explicit information about services, its against their policy because it's against the law (bill c 36).

'...choosing to sell their bodies' - OMG!!! How did you manage to come up with this 19th century terminology? SP don't 'sell their bodies' - they provide services. Just for your future reference...

And having 5 clients a day for $100 each would result in $500 tax free A DAY / $10,000+ A MONTH (working full time 40 hours a week), which is an amazing income even for Metro Vancouver!

Leolist is just an advertising forum. The lady pays for the ad and she gets to publish what she wants. It's not up to them to verify/ deny everything that's said. It's Caveat Emptor (buyer beware). Having said that they do have tools for people to report ads that violate their rules. They have a button on each ad that says "Report Ad" if you see an ad that violates their rules. Here's a quick link. https://www.leolist.cc/kb#sec1. I don't want to copy and paste their whole section but I did want to point out this portion...

Content Violations

The content you post -- words, pictures, videos, images -- should not violate the rights of others and should not contain or condone defamatory, fraudulent, deceptive, abusive, drug-related or illegal activities.

Given the amount of content that is posted, we are unable to monitor it all. We ask that you as a community assist us in making this site a pleasant environment. If you have a reasonable belief any posted content would violate our terms of service, gives misleading information, or serves the purpose of harassing -- please report it to us by clicking the "Report Ad" button located on every ad. If you suspect that content posted breaks the law by violating copyright law, please report that here.
When I see that I don't see a website that facilitates fraud.

Publicly pointing out the inaccuracies of an ad is not a tool that is available on Leolist and it's probably a good thing because it would be abused by rivals and their White Knights. For example I give you the report a post button on Craigslist. That's what makes forums like PERB useful. This is a useful tool for the customers. It helps other guys avoid the scams and point guys in the right direction instead.

Papcito, can you tell us what markets in Canada or North America meet your standard of value and quality advertising options?
If we are talking about US and Canada - the answer is NONE! Except for Montreal to a certain degree as other pooners have mentioned in this thread.

The problem with most of pooners in Vancouver is that they don't know any better, and they don't realize that what they currently have is absolutely substandard, uncivilized, and, I would say, barbaric.

Check this out, for example (use Chrome browser to translate if you have to), and you'll see the difference:

https://www.sexomercadobcn.com/blogs-escorts-profesionales-f14.html

Even this forum doesn't even come close though technically it's very easy to match the above example.

What you are referring to is a standard disclaimer any site of this kind (even fraudulent) would have. It's not about what they claim, but what they actually do to prevent fraud.

But lets do a test: I'm gonna report a few fake pic ads, and let's see what happens... I bet NOTHING!!!

I was right: 'Thank you. This ad has been reported.
As we are a community moderated site, our staff is only notified after several unique reports are submitted for a specific ad.'

They also don't let you point out why exactly you are reporting an ad. It's useless, they don't mean it, and they will do nothing about it. Period. They are a part of the fraud ring.

...try Miss Evelyn Snow.
1 hour - $400 !!!!!!!!!???????????? And that's the lowest rate available? And that's in the city with the median household income of 67K (that's less than 34K per person minus taxes)?

Are you serious? This is not Dubai, this is lowlife Vancouver. What would warrant spending $400 for sex for someone who is not a drug trafficker / dealer / gangster / money launderer no matter how good it is? If Miss Snow caters to the above categories, that's up to her, but I don't belong to any of them, and not willing to!

1. I just reviewed my copy of the Canadian Charter of Rights. I could not find a statute claiming "the right to cheap, readily available pussy" anywhere in it. Maybe there is a future as leader of the "Pooner Party"?. Think outside the box. A fully legal sex trade means that a corporation could offer free sex to it's staff as part of the benefit package.

2. You could always try dating. I can't speak for other pooners but my experience has always been that it's usually far more cost efficient that paying for sex. And, just off the top of my head, I'd say dating = a higher percentage of "hot sex" than paying for it. I don't want to give away all my smooth moves online but I tend to start by saying "Hello".

lol - you read my mind earlier. I was going to research whether having sex was a 'right' or a 'privilege' (a luxury only the wealthy can afford).

Seriously? You sound like a spoiled child rolling around the floor in the Walmart toy section.

Go read up on that free market you claim to understand.

Obviously paid sex is affordable. If nobody was paying 400 then the person charging 400 would change their price. So it is affordable to enough consumers to maintain pricing. You might not pay it but someone else does.

Why should vendors reduce their prices to accomodate you? You are not the only consumer of their product. They sell to the highest bidder. It's not their fault you never made an effort to better yourself so you could afford their services. They owe you nothing.

You know all this of course, we both know you are trolling.

If not you have a real issue with entitlement.

@Papacito

Did I ever tell you about the time I was fighting for your right to "cheap and available pussy". I was a reservist with the 39th Canadian Brigade & I saw the opportunity on the board so I volunteered. Out I went, C8 in hand, fighting the forces opposing "cheap, available pussy".

Well brother, I found myself barricaded in the Cactus Club on Denman Street. Short on ammo, my radio dead, I stared across the road as Trisha Baptie and the Vancouver Abolition Coalition circled me. With nothing but water behind me I prayed for the sound of a CH-146 to echo across English Bay. It never came. The woman came, mouths frothing as they screamed "poooooner, pooooner". No one else thought anything of it because they were sure it was the Walking Dead being filmed. My fate sealed I fled into the Cactus Club. And through the grace of God, I met several sex workers I know out with clients. They assisted me in pushing back the rogue forces..now apparently holed up on Gambier Island planning their next attack. Lucky for us all..the high cost of BC Ferries and gas has made it impossible for them to stage another attack.
