An Odd PM (the Sequel)

It was the day before Christmas. I got a PM from a highly respected and much admired SP saying she's been reading my postings on PERB and would like to meet me sometime.

Hot damn, I thought Santa has really outdone himself this time. As you can imagine, I was on cloud 9. I replied right away but no answer. Oh maybe she didn't get my message so I replied again a few days later. Still no answer.

Fast forward, three weeks later, no longer on Cloud 9 and with my feet firmly planted back on earth. I’m wondering…. What happened? Was it all a dream? No, her message is still in my Inbox. Oh well, I figured it has to be one of a few things…

1. She didn't get my messages. (unlikely)
2. The message was meant for someone else. (possible)
3. She’s been on vacation and hasn’t checked her email. (possible but unlikely)
4. She had too much to drink when she wrote the message and is now having a OMG moment for sending a message that is so out of her character. (Most Likely)

Anyway, I’m not mad and think it’s kind of funny. Maybe one day, I’ll get a notification that says “Retract. Retract.” LOL.

No doubt your wallet is the better for her lack of response.

Marketing.

Like most unsolicited requests, it's best to ignore them.

Perhaps you mistook the message as meaning she wanted to get to know you on a personal level rather than how it may have been intended. (Interested in having you book her) And perhaps when she realized your confusion and the fact you hadn't just made contact through the regular booking procedures, she realized you were delusional in reading more in the invitation than she meant to convey. Chances are she decided that communication with you would lead to more misunderstanding.
Either the above or someone hacked her account and just pranked you.

Good theory. If OP got "on Cloud 9" after a cold-call, there is a chance he misinterpreted it. It's marketing, no matter what the message said.

Ding ding! Slow season.
Hey. What a coincidence. I have been receiving these messages too.
Slow season with Christmas bills to pay plus pay for their slow season vacation. I would think any active pooner with good connections would have received at least five of these since the New Year.

A little off topic but......

I’ve been imputing my earnings into Excel for years now, and running formulas that give me all different kinds of averages.
Here’s what the stats show: There are no trends. There’s no slow season. There’s no busy season. There are ups and downs, but they don’t correlate in any way to holidays, seasons, times of year etc.
I started keeping these stats because I was sure there would be a slow and busy season, and figuring out which was which would be good for business, but now that I’ve got a decent sample size of seasons, I can pretty confidently say that busy-ness is random.

Large sample size does not mean representative. One escort you say? Perhaps agency/incall owners have a better view.

It's possible seasonal factors exist but do not affect all SPs. Say, I could see a regular every so often without wandering off. A few clients like that, and she'd have a stable business year around. Another SP's clients could be less dedicated, or likely to be unavailable due to holidays/family time, or inclined to try specials when there are many elsewhere.

At least Emmy is presenting some data and not just hypothesizing. Maybe you could accept her findings until there is other evidence to the contrary?

I absolutely accept her results, as applied to her. Kudos for the scientific approach.

If we talk about all escorts/cities/demographics, her data sample is in no way representative. Cannot draw any conclusions. Except maybe one - not all SPs' business is affected by seasonal factors.

I'm a good listener and the sp's I've gotten to know say there isn't necessarily a slow season, long weekends tend to be slow on the island. "Flavour of the month " has something to do with it as when a girl first comes on the scene she's usually booked all night but then her fifteen minutes of fame runs out, regulars aren't regulars anymore,or they get busy with life, get laid off so they have to curb their pooning budget. End of the month and rent /mortgage is due. Unforeseen circumstances? A few of the downtown agency girls said that when Monty's (strip club ) shut down that they noticed business dropped off.
I've been lucky in that I've had very professional sp's that never text me. I've had a couple girls message me on here trying to drum up business but I thought it was pretty harmless stuff.
But the biggest one I've heard around here anyways was long weekends, a couple agency girls that I've seen said they don't even bother booking on.

Kudos to you Emmy for taking the time to figure out your business and making the effort to plan. Others should follow your example.

Bunch of stuff deleted here. The lady in question has come forward. Thread closed, as the mystery is solved.
