Hi... haven't posted in a hell of a long time, but this seems like a good place to ask this question...

Are there any of our American friends who are reading this and also Trump supporters? I have a few questions, but they all come down to "How can you support this guy?"

I do understand the very partisan nature of American politics... and for some, you're Democrat or a Republican, and that's who you go with, period. But even the most ardent Republicans must be wondering...

So -- if you support Trump, what's your answer when questioned about the fact that he's a pathological liar, bully, welsher, etc... how unbelievably unfit he'd be as president... etc. I'm not surprised to hear ignorant rednecks spew things like "We need to mix things up a bit!" or "it's time to shake things up!". You're entitled to your un-informed opinion... but I'm not asking you.

I'm asking you if you're intelligent and educated and forward-thinking and big-picture-aware -- and you support Trump.. how? Why? Please explain.

The real bigotry that I find in this election cycle, is fed by the preponderance of left-wing owned media ABC, NBC,MSNBC, and CNN (Clinton News Network) completely distorting Trumps words into out of context sound bytes, and the ease at which the Liberals take leave of their senses denouncing Trump supporters as low intelligence...a completely bigoted, mightier than thou attitude.

The back-handed compliment..... looking for intelligent Trump supporters in the initial post..,is actually disguising dripping condescension toward anyone who supports Trumps ideas.

This open letter to Mr Kahn from a US serviceman makes some very logical points that to me seem nothing but common sense.http://usdefensewatch.com/2016/07/an-open-letter-to-mr-khizr-khan/

Donald Trump is seriously fucked up. If America is crazy enough to elect him as their President, we will see something which hasn't happened in a long time. We will witness an impeachment or an assassination.

I have noticed that there is a real "hate on" by many Americans of Hilary. I strongly suspect that Trump might be the only person in the whole of the USA that Hilary could run against and have a chance of winning. I think Hilary must have fallen on her knees and thanked every deity she could think of once it was confirmed her Republican opponent would be Donald Trump.

Why it is that so many Americans hate Hilary so much? This is what I don't understand. I personally believe it is because she is a dowdy female senior citizen with zero sex appeal. Those of us that visit this site should have no illusions about how important sex appeal is. But it is sad to see that more women are not behind Hilary. This is why I believe that women are sometimes their own worst enemy. I know that some believe that she is "crooked". But even if its true, if even half the things that Trump has been accused of recently in the news are true, Trump is still 10 times more crooked than Hilary is.

It amazes me about the amount of absurdity people will accept and still consider it normal!

The Trump / Clinton battle is a dog and pony show to get a woman into the White-house. A female would lose to any man in the race so this is the solution. A candidate can't throw him/her self up the polls but it only takes a ONE BAD DEED revealed to eliminate oneself from the race. That is what will happen with Trump and Clinton will win.

Trump is a smart man. Do you really think he would act the way he has if had a serious intention to represent the American people? The real issues are being swept under the rug while the world revels in the fiasco in front of it! The American two party system reveals itself to have a singular objective shown by the cohesion and ludicrousy we see in the 2016 election!

Let's say Trump won. You might question the intelligence of the population, but if the majority of the population is stupid and you disapprove of a leader that reflects that very quality of the majority, then you must hate democracy. :)
non sequitur or sarcasm? which is it?

By the way the tinfoil hat notion that he's a wringer is giving him too much credit:
Trumps just a pawn....who implied that he put this together...besides you?
and you meant "ringer"....right?

For lack of a better word, yes it was sarcasm. Actually it was more humorous cynicism, really...

Yeah, typo. Sorry. Anyway I was replying to JimDandy's notion above. He wrote "lol" so I'm not implying he was serious but I have seen posts on the 'net where people actually suggest variations of the thing JimDandy did, but without jesting (unless it was trolling... It's hard to tell these days). You made a comment above that said Trump was too smart to not know what he was doing, but his ghostwriter/co-author on Art of the Deal begs to differ. I thought it was an interesting insight... As the guy tells it that hidden depth one might expect to be there, isn't. Hence I shared the article.

Regardless if this was a "dog and pony show to get a woman into the White House" it seems a little risky to be stirring up the extremists in the voters rather than putting Hillary against someone bland, if it was even in their power to do so.

Truth be told I feel like we've been in some hidden camera prank for months now. It's literally impossible sometimes to tell the difference between a legitimate news article and The Onion just by the headline anymore.

People want a clever reason for the insanity, but sometimes it's just exactly what it looks like.

There has never been a candidate more ripe for a smack down than Hillary Clinton.

A walking disaster of corruption, deception, scandal, lies and incompetence.

Almost nobody could lose to her but someone as idiotic as Donald Trump.

I agree with the above comment that she should thank her pimps (Obama and Bill) and whatever God she's paid off to have The Donald daily derail his campaign.

If, by some fluke he reigns himself in soon, he still has a chance, which is insane with what he's done and said so far.

If he gets elected I don't think it would be the disaster everyone thinks. I think the system is designed to temper his wildest follies, and he'd eventually do something that would get him impeached and removed. Pence takes over.

Trump's biggest asset is his big "Fuck You" and a swift kick in the balls to all the back room dealers in both parties who choose the president before any American casts a vote.

I joked above that Trump is a mole, _NOT_ a pawn. There is a big difference, in that a mole knows exactly what their role is, while a pawn is simply a dumb soldier, unaware of the big picture, that may be sacrificed at a moment's notice. I will say that both scenarios are possibly true since the story that the Republicans are trying to sell as "reality" seems almost as improbable. And if you don't believe me, just think back to a year ago. Who would have believed we would be here now ?!?!

Be serious here for a minute. It makes no damned sense that Trump is a mole or a pawn. Why would the Republicans want to throw the election, and if they did, why do it with a guy who at times has faired better in the polls against Hillary than Romney did against Obama?

There's no conspiracy. Trump is an idiot and so he's winning the idiot vote. It's no more complicated than that. Democracy in action.

I confess I do wonder sometimes lately if the guy is sabotaging himself (subconsciously) deliberately, but not as part of some grand Illumnati conspiracy to get Hillary elected, but maybe because he's just getting cold feet but is (obviously) not the kind of guy that could admit it. The guy has issues.

its interesting this election

one of them should be committed and the other one should be in jail

its amazing that they are presidential candidates at all.

I think trump lacks some sophistication and class obviously but I wonder how much he is actually simply playing the media for free publicity,

it seems to work quite well until recently,

yeah he did cross the line, in attacking a fallen soldiers parents.

and they are right to attack him on the constitution, freedom of religion is a right I believe in the American constitution,

he should have made the distinction on radicalized muslims
like I said he lacks spit and polish.

The hate her because the non-stop propaganda the right spews against her. Why they do this is not really clear, but it probably has something to do with her being an activist wife of Bill Clinton. If she was a stay at home conventional wife there would be less hate, at least up to now. She has been a target for a long time due to who she was married to, so they have worked up a good head of steam. They figure that if they keep on making stuff up and manufacturing outrage, eventually it will stick with ordinary voters who will figure that there is no smoke without fire. That is basically the MO of the right. In terms of overall performance Clinton has been reasonably competent.

It is not only her, they did it with Obama as well. It is a tactic that sort of works for them, so expect the same sort of vitriol to be directed against any national democrat who is reasonably competent and otherwise looks like they could win.
