Costco active membership is good for all Costco's all over the world.
Keep in mind that the USA district takes only Visa for credit payments now. They no longer take American Express.

When did that change? I though Costco Canada accepts Capital One and Costco US American Express.

Slight correction, they take both Visa and Mastercard.

I am not a member of Costco, but I remember recently reading about Costco's switch away from AMEX. And, it seems that not just any VISA, and I do not think Mastercard is accepted.

I would suggest that before anybody goes down to a Washington Costco, they do a search. That would eliminate surprises when you get to the checkout. Google will give you all the answers you need.

That is their co-opted credit card, Costco cc....used to be with AMEX till Citibank bought out the contract or was awarded it...now it's Citibank Visa that is the Costco issued credit card, pretty sure you can still use any cc in any Costco

I was in California a couple of weeks ago, bought some wine, used my Mastercard.

At the time of writing:
Costco in Canada takes Mastercard (not Visa or Amex)
Costco in the US takes Visa (not Mastercard or Amex)

Last year:
Both Costco in Canada and US took Amex (not Visa or Mastercard)

Like I said previously, I am not a member of Costco, but I did do a search for the little information on credit cards usable at Costco.

It sounds like l2lp and d5243 concur with what I said.

A few facts need clearing up.

1. Costco memberships are valid worldwide
2. Burlington Costco is the better Costco if comparing it to Bellingham, but most Canadians realize this and are heading to this location.
3. Costco USA stores do NOT accept Mastercard. However, online Costco does and Amex too: https://usa.visa.com/pay-with-visa/cards/costco.html
