I Googled it life in a test tube, its not life,
the scientists that even did it said its not life.

Interesting though,

um

religion is well an institution created by man, like I said or believe simply out of ego and power,

faith is something quite different.

a belief in religion is quite foolish, it gives god like powers and knowledge to a greedy stupid ego satisfying man,

I don't see how you can say someone's faith in something more then well himself more then the physical world allows us to understand. its something you feel but can never really touch or explain, like love, what is it, or a faith in a soul, what is it,

I remember a though experiment from somewhere, is anything actually real, were trapped inside our own head, our perceptions of the physical world if there is a physical world is distant and perverted. we could all be in a coma simply dreaming this for instance we would never know, or trapped in the movie the matrix, we would again never know.

I think faith is like that a soul is like that, they look at the sky the heavens and see and feel their soul, they feel love and come closer to their soul. some people feel that, others never will. to put an name on it like Christianity or Islam is foolish, but people I think have felt it, as much as they have felt and touched love.

I believe that is all we actually have is our soul we come into this life naked and if anything leaves this earthly world it will be our soul, it is the only thing worth protecting and nourishing,,

Just remember, if you believe some of the crap that the spiritual religious sell - you are in danger of "drinking the kool aid" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drinking_the_Kool-Aid https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonestown#Deaths_in_Jonestown

Another example is Waco Texas https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waco_siege Koresh is known to have had sex with a 9 year old, assisted by her mother https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Koresh There are still members that believe that Koresh was God and therefore, no rules applied to him.

The Crusades, The Inquisition, The Holocaust, the organized sexual abuse of children by the Roman Catholic Church, what is happening in the Middle East - for the last 2,000 years

The list of the evils of organized Religion is endless - the list of the good organized Religion does is very, very short.

Fully functional virus have been synthesized. Modified life forms are created in the lab all the time. It is routine. There is not anything mysterious about it. We know how it works. More complex life forms are just that - more complex, but the underlying principles are the same.

There is nothing special about life. It is just chemistry. Complex chemistry, but still just chemistry.

If you can make all of the right components, and put them together in the right way, it will live.

Science is the exact opposite of religion. Religion is having faith in an idea in the absence of evidence and your generally discouraged or manipulated not to question faith. Science is the pursuit to gather hard evidence and research to prove an empirical truth.

There's no evidence of Jesus ever existing in the time he was supposed too. All the stories came 150 years after the time he was supposed or have existed. The Roman Empire and Greeks developed and set many of the standards we still use to measure, document and investigate today. Neither the Greeks or the Romans of the time documented anything Jesus in late BC and early AD. This during Octavain Caesar's reign. Octavian was passionate about keeping redundant historical records of everything.

It's a rather strange omission. Jesus exists in faith and in stories from the bible.

All of the pieces of his cross and the shroud of Turin have been proven to be elaborate frauds. The shroud is actually an example of early experiments with photography. The pieces of the cross are all fakes.

Everytime someone tries to pitch a holly relic they always seem to be proven to be fraudulent.

There is no answer that will satisfy every one .. when we talk about life after death .it enavablily turn to religious beliefs. . We can't help going there because that is what we all have grown up with .for us in the western world it different forms and interpretation of the Christian doctrine. .and we allso are aware of the eastern and middle eastern religions..seldom do we understand there bases.
But never the less what we here and see and are exposed to influence us as to what we will believe. Or not believe.

At no.time does any of our belief or even sciance provide concrete prof. .it may give observation. .and date that are stated as fact later...but there allways remain guesting. .As for life after death there are no widely accepted facts of prof..What there is .is indaviduals experiences. .which they interpret to mean something to the indaviduals. And some time others experience the same thing..so they assume there is truth..again that is only a real truth to those that were there ..other have to believe it by acceptance or faith.

The few examples that I have had in my life ..like seeing a UFO at 12 yrs old..and having that experience to real to ..and plows me to believe there more out there then we are told to accept..But I don't know what an alien looks like..I have not seen one..and plows gain I only can share .and understand those that have had similar siting. So I am a believer in UFOS. But I can still see where they get faked and miss identified. .I look at it intelegetly not blindly.

And then there is why I understand what some of christanity is about and what born again means. ..only because it happened to me ..so I share a similar experience with other .and understand exactly what they felt..and how it effected their lives after....I know what the Bible was talking about at Pentacost. ..and what Jesus ment by the holy sprit ...But some one that has not experienced it does not know what I am talking about .. other then they gave heard about ..seen others that claim it...and dnd nd have been turned off by those people ..which I totally understand too ..because it turns me off some time too..

There are other experience in life that cause me to temper my beliefs and still ask questions because I don't have the djfinative answer..and don't believe it is found in any one doctrine or science...We as humans may not even be close to understanding thd reality of the universe ..and our relationships to living and dieing.

there is a debate to whether a virus is a life form,

even on this forum I was told a virus is not life. it is not alive,

I think some one said it faith is belief in something you cannot proof, religion is not faith,

I think it is something you feel or you don't

an interesting thought occurred to me today, you don't believe in god a creator life after death so why, why anything go on living, help the homeless etc etc, I' mean really why not just put the homeless out of there misery, Africa is a mess so just nuke it and start over.
my neighbour is pissing me off, all he is a chemical reaction I should just snuff him out like a match. whats the problem. what is the problem if there is no after life no god nothing we have to answer to.
but somehow we know things are inherently wrong. some of us know it, others are afraid of punishment others simply don't care, and kill and murder people.

so tell me there is no god, why not simply put a homeless person out of his misery/ easyer that way costs less money.

Not being born yet is not existing. Being dead is ceasing to exist. I'm a bit puzzled why people continue to be confused about what death is like.

Do you remember where you were during the US Civil war or what you were up to when the Yankees won their first World Series? You were not alive for those events. You were unborn. You didn't exist.

Death is freighting. It's the something we all fear universally. The thought of no longer existing is hard to fathom. The one postive in the believe in life after death is the peace of mind it offers many people to live their daily lives without obessing about the end.

I am kind of suprised with your last comments Peace guy. .
We are talking about life after death..which may take on a number of different form.9. one is rencarmation. ..which if not accepted ..then would not be considered in the so call clinical study of morality. .
So it was not impartial and allready made assumptions. .

If you want to determine what morel attribute we are born with you have consider all aspects of what brings about each life ..and what constitutes the being of life...first off no new born to day is with out past influence of the morels of the society they are born into..there is the inherited genetic blue print ..and genetic memories from their parents...grand parents..and even results characteristics of multable generation..We are not indaviduals in that sense to make all the choises as to how we will think and act .Some are allready programed in . Our version of morality is being formed the minute we are conceived..and the envorment that effects our development in the wum.

That's the biological and phycalogical aspects.. then there is.what is life when does it start in the embryo. When do we become aware or receive the spark of life..or perhaps our spirt..if you believe we have a soul..And that is the just of this whole conversation.Debating weather there is life after death depends on if you believe we have a soul/ spirt..that is sepret from the physical body and goes some where after our death.

Yes region is man made ..and is multable cultural in its different attempts to explain the unknown, to inforce rules and morels dictated by the society and hopefully make our lives better. Of course not allways the case..

But there still is something that we are part of..we call it God..and by a thousand other names which instill human attribute to an alien force..it oviously not human or even physical in it existence. Now this force could of created it all or been the instigator of it all..or just a product of the beginning of it all...What ever the truth is of creation and the evalution of the universe and our own evalution. We can not just discount this possiblity. Which would make us part of this god we chose to seek..and would have morels part of our make up

We are then left we the choise to act with a morel conchesiou or not and act in a selfserving manner. . Will there be any consequences.
And that comes back to what we each expect from life after death.
If you don't think there is life after death what governs your morelty if you don't believe in consequences in the next life.. .and there are many that do as like thinking there are no consequences to any of their action. When you consider the horenduces things man is capable of. Beggs the question what morels were they instilled with at birth ..or how did life experiences change their morel understanding .

Will these people come back from the dead to do it all again ..or to learn what is right and wrong.

Because I don't know if I have died before or not ..although at 3 and half I was at death door. And something did change in me .not even sure if I am the little boy that went in to hospital ..or some one else jiond me there

Yes there is enough of the parenormal happening
To say there's is something more out there then us living.
And disembodied spirits have not even been touch on here..

Life or not after death is such a very ed subject ..religious beliefs only covers part of it.As for those that think you have one life and then you die.and there is nothing more , they are in the minority of accepted beliefs.
Not sure why any one would believe that that's all there is..when considering what we do know about the whole of the universe is so little .
We have very little understanding of anything out side of our simple life.
After all we still basically live on the survival instinct. Perhaps in a different jungle then the animals. .one more suited to what we create for our selves.

I realize genetic memories and maybe cultural memories is a stretch but I think it is posable. .
As for genetic inherited abilities. .that definetly is true..
I have many of the traits my dad had .not just physical .but visualization. .working with my hand.. a photographic memory..and playing music on a key board by ear..and some mechanical abilities. .and I also got my artist ability from my mom.. i actually in some of those thing are better then they were ...

Look left. Way left.
I typically do not respond to your posts because they are always imprecise and unclear because you choose to not take the time to spell check your writing before you post. That said, yes, the tread is supposed to be about life after death, but the part of SON's post regarding morality to which my comments were directed has no close relation to the main topic of the thread. Your bringing magical thinking to the topic is of no more real value than to say that we all (if there is actually anyone else but me) live in a perfect Matrix-like artificial reality tended to by mechanical spiders while we sleep our existence away'. There is just as much empirical evidence for your reincarnation theory and the one I just outlined. In the absence of real evidence, all talk is just hot, empty air.

So this is pretty much empty baffle-gab again, except for one sliver of scientific study at the moment. Recent research has seen evidence that methylation of the exogenome by stressors during one's lifetime can be inherited. Thus children and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors are themselves predisposed to depression and anxiety. Or the descendants of mice raised in cages in close proximity to predatory animals are themselves stressed and timid.

But this is a long way from inheriting arbitrary cultural traits as you suggest.
Please don't complain about other's spelling as you "tread" on this thread. ;-)

As indaviduals we have access to the general information of the day . That the world is round and circal the sun..and the sun is in a spiral galexcy are what we are told is the discovery of the time..

Where we look in to universe and see back in time millions of light .yrs sound logical based on what we have learned...And that we can look or theroris how small the parts of an atom is gives great credit to our imagination. The fact that we think it might be true .is a belief in our scientists.

Yes humanity has learned alot ..and forgotten alot too.
But it still is very little and we have along way to go .
Considering the experience I decribed which again some believe in and others don't. But to me they are real and true in there nature and I can't deni them

And when it comes to all these things that you point out we know , none of them we discovered. Others did..and believed the evidence to be true..And we in turn have to trust what we read and are shown and go along with the general consensus of more educated men then our selves.

On the other hand there is all way question we ask that we don't have a consensus on a definative and universal accepted answer and is only a belief we hold.
Life after death..or trying find out what is after death is one of those quests
Looking in to the star and traveling to other planet is part of that quest for an answer and we may find another race that has a better explanation of what the meaning of life is.

As for the black holes at center of the universe. It is a theory which some believe in..it may be true. Or it may just be a thought that gets proven wrong in the future..like many things we once thought were true.

If it us true then we know where every thing will end in another 15 billion or so yrs..
Don't think mankind will be here to see it but our spiritual colective might be.

Josephus, the Romano-Jewish historian, born shortly after the time frame when Jesus was reputed to have lived, did write about Jesus and other individuals from the New Testament (see Antiquities of the Jews). Also, the Roman historian Tacitus (later, in his Annals).

There are other historic figures who are accepted as having being real and lived, but for which there are no contemporary accounts. King Arthur is one example. There is actually a high degree of consensus among historians that Jesus did exist as a historic figure. Look into the historicity of Jesus. There is good reason to believe Jesus was a historic figure.

15 years since my old man passed. My widow mother still believes there will be reunion when her time comes.
Sometimes she tells me that she misses dad so much she just wants to end her life. Everytime we visit dad's grave, she mumbles "Im gonna scold you for leaving me so early"..
My heartaches but I keep my poker face. I tell her that she can't go anywhere because she has to honor the promise she made 10 years ago about baby sitting my child for $5/hr....
For the past 15 years she has been lonely, faithful, and stubbornly strong. I argue with her often because I want her to enjoy life without feeling guilt. I truly want her to forget dad.
However, I can't deny the fact that her hopes to meet dad again has kept her going all these years.

For me.. I dont believe it at all. But every few years my old man randomly shows up in my dream. One time he called me and even in my dream I knew he was dead but I still
chatted with him like best friends who haven't talked for years. Usually I buy Lotto649 when he show up.

I have dreams of my father too
One very comforting one ..was he and I were on a walk down a country road . We came to a house at the edge of a great hilly bog .
We stayed the night .and in the morning I asked the keep where was my dad ..they point up on the far hill side .and nd I saw him walking a way into the bog.
They told be when u come back here I will go find and join him.

Other dreams I had of him ..was a continuing one that would come up ..where my dad suddenly appeared in the house .just like he was still alive ...and we acted like he was still alive until he started problem .Then I would remind him that he is dead .and he would disappear for a while .

I actually enjoy seeing him now a then .because I do miss him . It realy doesn't matter what difficulties we some time had.
Some times we still have arguments in my dream .and I end them by tell him he's dead..or I guess telling myself.

Thank PG for demteralizing...disecting and dismantling my posts..I agree there are some errors.in them and miss construed facts on part.
I trying not to explain every thought I have on the subject ..and not leave my post .inncomprehendable with all the grammar errors and spelling mistakes. .. I allso am not writing a university paper with all the refrances noted..

I addmitilly am inquisitive about all things..but limited it retaining a intrest beyond the baci framing of the idea.
There are some jubject which interest me more and I have ferm opinions on..but they are more belief then total acceptance
Give new information my understanding may change and what accepted in my belief might no longer be true.

In the case of my UFO sighting all most 50 yrs age..actually none of the details of what I saw that summer even have faded.
I still see it the same as I saw it then .I observed it for all most 10 min..as it move up ., changed direction and a vapor trail was left as it went up into the clouds.
Yes for the rest of my life I have tried to find an explanation for what it was and I have no found any craft that existed at the time that could match its cigar shape or act in that manner.
Certainly the harrier jet is close..
But what would that be doing over the hills of langford at 10 pm on a June evening in 1965 .Not likely! The first harrier flew in 1967.

I have been trained as a pilot and am apt at identify other aircraft and in all the yrs I have allways been allways able to identify any strang blinking lights .or silver object as planes..but I have never seen anything like what I originally saw .
I allso was interested in all the UFO pictures and dicriptiom.and to it yo bad thst so many are fakes..But there are many that are unexplained . A few of the early bark cigar shaped photos look similar and acted similar to what I saw ..
