The fact that we know about the men means that the security guards were alert. They even have good quality pictures. The Mall Management Company will have only employed a few guards per shift. One or two will be in the security room watching the monitors. The other one or two will be doing walk throughs. If they are in the other end of the mall, they simply can't get there quickly enough. They can't just phone the police because that wouldn't be Politically Correct until the Mall Security has established that there is indeed a threat.

It doesn't matter where these guys are from and anyone filming, taking pics etc needs to be scrutinized. I am not talking about taking selfies in the mall.

If you look at the pics, these guys were taking pics of things upwards from where they were standing. Video surveillance camera locations perhaps?

Bear in mind, if you are innocent, the use of video surveillance should never be a problem for you. It is there to ensure the safety of the entire public in the area.

May not be politically correct but I prefer to live in an area under video surveillance like what we had during the 2010 Winter Olympics. Recall the London Train Bombings in 2005? All the suspects were caught with the extensive video network the police/security deployed throughout London.

If people innocent then why is it ok to treat them like they have done something wrong? it's an invasion of privacy, and it can be abused.

Edit: in public on someone else's property, that's ok. I misunderstood your comment

You can't buy a phone without a still/video camera. Taking pictures of buildings in public and in plain sight shouldn't be a problem. Some of the responses are a bit over the top, I think. Some of the vids on YouTube are a good example. It isn't a crime. . . .yet.

with the current events in Europe, it's rational to think that these guys are "terrorists". better safe than sorry! glad that it turns out that "we" over-worry. ;)

I think you are confusing the word "rational" with paranoid.

The patient appeared perfectly rational.

4.endowed with the faculty of reason:
rational beings.

5.of, relating to, or constituting reasoning powers:
the rational faculty.

6.proceeding or derived from reason or based on reasoning:
a rational explanation.

paranoid
adjective

1.of, characterized by, or resembling paranoia

2.(informal) exhibiting undue suspicion, fear of persecution, etc

paranoia
noun

1.Psychiatry. a mental disorder characterized by systematized delusions and the projection of personal conflicts, which are ascribed to the supposed hostility of others, sometimes progressing to disturbances of consciousness and aggressive acts believed to be performed in self-defense or as a mission.

2.baseless or excessive suspicion of the motives of others.

Well I am also glad that this wasn't what some of us thought it was and all is well. To bad they could possibly have some ramifications of the story being publicized including their pictures. If they decide to come back again to Canada I designed this for them.

Vancouver Mayor Apologizes

In the meantime, the police have offered to drive the men around during the remainder of their stay.

Gregor Robertson said what’s important at this point is that visitors to Vancouver feel valued and respected.

“We’re a city that takes care of people,” he said. “We respect people no matter what their background, where they come from and what they believe in. That’s what this city is all about.”
Thank God! At last the VPD are going to help low income seniors and people with nowhere to live get to Dr. appointments and make sure they can get to the stores to buy food.
After all, “We’re a city that takes care of people.

Anyone else hear the distinct sound of lips on butts?
