The Seahawks seem to be peaking at the right time,Russel Wilson set team records for touchdowns and yards and the defense looks as good as ever,i wonder if they can make it 3 superbowls in a row.
Did u not see the Hawks destroy the Cards.Fakehawks!!!
no way they get past Arizona, Packers or Panthers
Rebuild begins next year, many players will jump ship. Pete Caroll still acts like he's still in the NCAAF.
can he ever stay off the field?..AMATURE

Its called being a players coach. The players love him and play hard for him. The fans love him too.Fakehawks!!!

Surely you have quotes from every coach and executive to back this up? I can't wait to read who said what, when and wherePete Caroll still acts like he's still in the NCAAF.

I've been watching lots of biography stuff on the NFL network and recently saw the bio on Al Davis.Seahawks are seeded 6th. Can they win one road game at Vikings? Yes. But I cannot see them winning three on the road. They had home field to make it to the last two Super Bowls.
er, you might want to check the stats Lance.I would love to see the Seahawks get back to the Super Bowl. Sadly, I don't think it's going to happen.
No doubt they're peaking and they've had a good run the past 2 months. Impressive how they've retooled the offensive line and rejigged the offence from a running to a passing team (that should finish all the BS talk about Russell Wilson being a "scrambling game manager" (aka black quarterback) and not a passer).
However, defence wins championships and this one is not up to scratch. They still have too many holes in the middle of the field (which teams with great tight ends and mobile quarterbacks - Panthers, Steelers) will exploit. Kam Chancellor is hurt and appears to have lost a step (as has Richard Sherman). Pass rush will be key and it's been inconsistent...but improving since week 1. Corner play has improved since they moved in Shead and Lane but I don't think we can rely on those guys in the big games. Sure they did great against Arizona yesterday, but the other team was playing for 2 weeks from now.
I also worry about their running game. Beastmode is over. Marshawn is done. He's too slow to the hole. We had a chance with Rawls. This running back by committee (with Marshawn spelling in) won't get it done in the playoffs. Russell has been great in the passing schemes but they've beaten some weak teams too the past 8 weeks. When the intensity steps up, and defences take over, I dont think they have the line to handle the rush, nor the receivers (including Baldwin) who can get open when it matters (my only hope is Lockett - the fast one, not the one who blew the super bowl).
Still, like the past few years, they've started slow and built steadily through the year. It's been a game effort but I don't think they can make it. Maybe they'll get lucky but I fear this recent roll will come to an end fast - maybe even in Minny.
If they get past the Vikes, can they beat the Packers, or the Cardinals, or the Pantherrs - my guess is no. (and, if by some miracle they do, don't think they can beat the Steelers again).
Still, I consider it an achievement that they made the playoffs. Kudos to Coach Carroll and to Russell Wilson (and KJ Wright and Averil). Consider that a win and take it to the bank. Think that's the only one we'll be seeing come playoff time.
(PS...Can you imagine where the Seahawks would be if, instead of trading for Jimmy Graham, they had kept Max Unger and traded Marshawn Lynch to Miami for Brent Grimes?...and Rawls hadn't gotten hurt. The Seahawks would be the ones talking about an undefeated season. So, might be a little early to be talking about "blowing up and doing a rebuild". They still got lots of pieces - and placed Top 5 in both offence and defence - with a ton of injuries and a few aging players)
Lol...his post was way off. Steelers are in a different conference.er, you might want to check the stats Lance.
http://www.nfl.com/stats/team
These stats are for both AFC and NFC combined.
Seahawks Fourth in Total Offense
Seahawks Third in Total Rushing Yards
Seahawks Second in Total Defense
Seahawks Second against the Pass
Seahawks Number one against the Rush.
Stats don't win Super Bowls but as a Wildcard i.e. an underdog, I love their chances.
Hell, they have nothing to lose and all their games are on the road from now on.
The run game will have to be better if they want to make a third trip, they will play outdoors in the winter for their 1st playoff game.
I think Carolina will be the team to beat in the NFC though.
I guess we just have a different opinion. I've watched every game since the Jim Zorn days and I've played so I understand the game.I know Pittsburgh is in a different conference. I expect they'll win the AFC and face the Hawks if they win the NFC.
Look, I love Sherman and your assessment was fair 2 years ago. This year no. I've watched every single play of every game the Hawks have played. He's been repeatedly torched. Not the player he was and the refs aren't giving him the room he had in the past ( to hold ). He was penalized 6 times this year. Only 1 time last year. He's still a good corner but no longer a "shut down" or best in the league.
Just like with Marshawn, you're relying on the past and on reputation. Watch the game with knowledgeable eyes and you'd see they're not the players they were ( luckily Wilson is better ).
I wish it was different. They're my favourite team and I want them to win. I just don't think they've got enough to do it.
Still it's the NFL and anything could happen.
PS thanks for the stats update BBB . I didn't check them overnight. Ok, they're top 4 in both ( not top 5).
But you're right. Stats don't win championships. Players do. Wish they had the horses to do it but don't think they do.
Go hawks anyway.
