Was channel surfing and started watching the Andy Griffith Show for a few minutes. Andy's young son Opee (about 8 to 10 years old) has a young male friend over for a sleep over. For some unknown reason Andy suggests that the young friend sleep with him in his bed rather than in Opee's bed. We see Andy get the young boy a piece of pie and a glass of milk before retiring to his bedroom with the young boy. The purpose of this scene is to show Opee become jealous that his friend rather than him was invited to sleep with his dad and was offered the milk and piece of pie.

Those were much more innocent times. Could you imagine such a scene in a family show today? So have we made progress or have gone backwards?

Watching the old show is always so much fun.
I don't really think of it that way.
It was there time...we now have today's time.

At least they are still showing them on ME-TV..my favorite channel.

Reminds me of a story my uncle told me. This took place back in the late 50's or early 60's when many tv shows were live. My uncle, who was a farmer, went into the house for his morning coffee and caught some of a show called Romper Room. It was basically a show which brought guest children into a kindergarten school setting. At one point in the show the female host asked a young child if she joined her mother in bed when her father went off to work. The child's reply was no but that her uncle Peter did. The female host did not know quickly to change the topic lol.
