Thinking of buying a new 2016 F250 with a 6.7 diesel motor, anyone have a experience with these, Don't want any issues

I've heard that Ford 4X4 trucks have problems with the rear differential
Ummmmmmm.......They have injector and piston wall weakness.
The Engineers who designed it also put it together in such a way that to get at the motor....You have to take the cab off the frame.
Yeah thats right, they are the ones with the supposed higher education.
They also get really bad fuel mileage compared to the Cummins, and Duramax.
But they sure look pretty....All the North American Diesels are junk for the 60 or 70 thousand they ask you to pay....It's just whats the best piece of junk you want to put up with for that kind of money.
I have several Dodge Cummins and one GMC....The Dodge will run forever and fall apart around the motor.
The GMC Duramax is more of a luxury truck that will pull anything you put behind it...But they get stuck easy due to clearance issues in rough terrain.It's my highway hauler...The Dodge is my workhorse,but they are not comfortable, and have major front end and transmission issues.
You will also take a beating on resale of a Ford..My trucks are almost worthless when I get through with them, so I never take that into consideration, I just put them into the bush and take off the insurance.
I have owned new Ford diesels, and I won't buy one ever again due to repairs, warranty problems, and the fact that once they have 80 thousand miles they may never get my horses or cattle to the place I want the truck to haul them too.

I have a platinum edition. Fantastic truck. No issues. Great pulling power and equal stopping power with the transmission and engine break. Seats are super comfortable with multiple adjustments. Get about 15l/100km but you are moving a big truck. If you aren't going to use the diesel don't buy one. They need to work. I have a 12000 lb boat to tow.
if your planning to put on a lot of miles the dodge cummins is the way to go, ford really missed out I believe they had a change at the cummins engine but they declined its the best in the business like some one said the engine will last longer then the rest of the truck,

In the new Cummins they have thinned the piston wall down to get a bigger bore, creating a little more heat, and less strength.
They've done this to keep up with the more powerful diesels, and the rings in piston 5 will score the wall giving it blow-by in the compression at 200 thousand Klms.
The Dodge auto transmission still fucking sucks...I've rebuilt 7 of them.. and it has an improved front end, that is still WAY too weak to take the weight of the motor.
The GMC diesel's weak point is the Bosch injectors, but they have placed them on the outside of the motor, so now instead of $5000 to replace its around $3500 or so.
The Allison's transmission is the best on the market...My GM is like a freakin' rocket, even with a load behind it...But no place near the Dodge for feul mileage.
The Fords I've owned were decent trucks till they needed repair[feul injectors]..Then they became a shitshow for my bank account, and my accountant.....Terrible feul mileage, and a shaky warranty..When the top end of the motor needed work the entire front end needed to be removed.The mechanic said Ford Diesels are putting his kids through collage, and his parking lot was full of them.....Never again

I like my Dodge Ram 2500. Gas, not diesel. It's older (1999) but with less than 180K km on it, it drives like new. Standard, of course, makes it fun to drive! I haven't driven it with a load on, but it's always fun not stalling it in the VERY DEPTHS of first gear!! I'd like to test drive a Toyota or Nissan truck, because I've almost always driven Japanese cars. I had a GM that I loved too back in the university days; first car I ever bought new! FORD stands for Found on Road Dead in my house. SO bought one once; NEVER AGAIN. A pop can was undercoated into the frame & it was missing bolts in the sway bars!

Look into the 2016 Nissan Titan with the cummins diesel, very impessive, 310 hp and 555 lb ft of torque...5L v8 with variable turbo...very impressive

Looks interesting. I tried to build and price one but no price for the cummins yet.?? Or proven fuel economy numbers. Don't care for the attempt to copy Fords front end. Do like the integrated gooseneck hitch in the frame. Hopefully others follow that lead.
If anyone buys one of these don't be afraid to start a new thread about it.

It's not in full production yet. You'd probably have to order it at the dealership.

Hi there. I own a resort and get to watch the trucks as they go in and out. What I have dicovered is the following: Ford diesel's have broke too many owners to count. The motors are shit. You pay a premium for "Ford Tough" and then they will not take them on trade except at almost scrap pricing. But they do look cute. Dodges tend to fall apart around the motor. GM has actually built a truck that is tough, strong and comfortable. And they finally look great. I have watched as the RV'ing community is mostly GM. And now the workers are switching over to them. I own a 15 year old Sierra HD Diesel and think I might keep it forever. Hey remember that opinions are like assholes, everyone has one!

I do admin in a large HD repair shop that does nothing but repair trucks for large fleets.
Maintenance & repair all makes, all sizes, all shapes of trucks.
All of these trucks have their problems, mostly front end stuff, BUT THE FORD/NAVISTAR DIESEL TRUCKS ARE GARBAGE!
Add in the fact that for a good portion of these repairs you have to lift the cab up to gain access and it just doesn't make sense to own one of these.
Even if its covered by warranty, do you really want the cab be taken off your truck, possibly over & over?
Mechanics love these trucks, they are what pays for their vacations. Any mechanic that tells you to buy a Ford Diesel truck wants your money!
