I am surprised how fast this all worked out for them. After the trade deadline people thought they should be able to make the wildcard, but the Yanks were too far ahead.

They will be deadly in the wildcard game if that's where they end up. Price with the Jays lineup has to be the deadliest one game combo in baseball right now.
They are looking great and you can see that they have a fire back in them that we haven't really seen in a long time. It's nice to see them winning with confidence. The new additions are just what they needed and have really bought in to the team. I'm really hoping they go all the way this year.

Blue Jays in 1st place....not a typo.beat A's 10-3 while the Wanks,I mean Yanks, lost to Cleveland.

everything going well for the Jays, starting pitching, bullpen, the bats have been there all season.

too early to talk post-season, but maybe time to think about it?

Buck Martinez mentioned that they haven't been in first place in the AL East at this time of year since 1993.

Last year they only won 10 games in all of August, this year the have 10 wins in the first 12 days. This weekend return clash with the Yanks is huge but should also be fun.

They rolling at the right time. They had one of the best lineups in all baseball prior to the deadline, then acquiring Tulo just put an explanation mark on it. Then adding Price was the final piece.

AA finally got it right. Love this and love everyone's enthusiasm.

Go Jays!!!

You know how sometimes in the NHL a team fires the coach and under whoever takes over they go on a five or 10 game win streak before falling back to what they really are?

Wait for the Jays to start looking more like the Leafs soon.

Well if it ends up being a wildcard game against LA.......seems like Price really has their number. 1 run through 8 as I type this. I think they are leaving him out there to really show the Angels....what's up.
They literally just hit a homerun....but he is still throwing a great game.

The Jays look for real this year, unless they get some major injuries i cant see them not winning their division, the Yankees are going to crumble, they are too old and dont have the pitching anymore.

Screw the Yankees, its amazing why anyone would go to that Stadium in the Bronx, its one of the ugliest areas in all of NYC. Plus takes forever from Brooklyn on the subway.

Another hot streak. They have been crazy at the plate.
54 runs in 5. I don't think the Yankees are going to go on any big hot-streaks.
They are now 7-1 to win the WS, behind only Kansas City. Part of the reason Kansas City is leading, is because they have no chance of needing to win a wildcard game.

I went to a game there last year and you are right. Really weird part of town.

Anthopoulos made the right moves at the right time. They got rid of some dead weight and got some new blood. Price said winning is contagious and these guys know they have a shot if they keep doing what they're doing.

Swept the double header. Yankees looked dejected. With this buffer in the division the Jays are now world series favourites at 4-1.
Only a couple games behind Kansas City. If they do that its home field advantage straight through.

I thought home field advantage for the world series is based on the all star game result?

Both of you are correct. American League won the All Star game, so the AL champion has home field advantage all the way.

But, to assume the Blue Jays need to pass KC for the best AL record, is not accurate. What if KC is eliminated in its first playoff series? Or for that matter, what if BJ's do not get past their first round. Way too early to speculate on that. Just enjoy yourselves and see how it all works out.

Yea sorry, I interpreted Bcneil's post as the blue jays needing to pass KC for best record in league in order to get home field advantage straight through playoffs, world series included

Isn't anybody going to say it? The Blue Jays clinched the East today, and have a two game lead over KC for home field advantage, all the way through the World Series.

Even if the Royals make up the two games to tie Toronto, the BJ's have the tie breaker by virtue of winning the season head to head matchup. So that means they need to make up three games to pass the Jays. Very unlikely as both teams will be re-arranging their staffs in preperation for theplayoffs.

This could be their year again, finally.

It was kind of anticlimactic today. I understand the reasoning and logic to play all the backups in game two......but KC is still on their tail.
Price, Stroman, Estrada, Dickie then Price. Its like 4 aces right now.
