These are going to be interesting times with all my neighbours and their automatic sprinkler systems that go on in the middle of the night. Or the guy across the street who washes his three vehicles daily. I'm sure he is OCD and will certainly go through withdrawal. :p

Will there be a night shift of Municipal Workers out giving fines?

Interesting they are still permitted to operate while window cleaners, siding cleaners and other power washing companies are shut down.

Are the chafer beetle watering exemption permits still valid? One article on News 1130 said they are void, but nothing on the city documents say so.

Neighbors might still get mad with my green grass though lol

its all a farce this water restrictions. Gvrd spent almost 3 billion on upgrading treatment plants that rely on run off water. A better system would have been to develop the aquifer system that runs along the river. It will fill up and never run out. I dont see the fraser drying up any time soon. some of the cleanest water in the world minus the silt.

As for the brown grass unfortunately when it goes dormant it does not clean out air and strip CO2 from the air

fraser river has sewage dumped into it by virtually every municipality up-river which is close to it. Bacteria level spikes way up every summer with the warmer water temperature.

Not sure I would agree that it is that clean.

Maybe they should also control everyone going into every day businesses using bathroom facilities :pound::doh:. Pacific center mall food court area bathroom for example, has enormous amount traffic coming and going there. Just think how much water is used everyday through those avenues. Water usage is usage no matter how you slice it.

As usual, the media working its scare tactics to the max. If its becomes an emergency issue.....ban everything RIGHT NOW and scrap this " stage level " bullshit.

Like everything else we hear......I think its all bull crap

I had to laugh when they interviewed the mayor from North Van city.
He stated that the city is using more water then last year showing that people are not conserving.
One caller asked him how many more residential high rise and units were built in the last year, he answered he did'nt
know and it should'nt have an impact on the city water usage. I guess all the new units have rain barrills and that is the water they are using.

Its all bullshit my friend. Again, water usage applies to everything and not just water gardening.

Maybe they should come out and say, point blank that we now have to take 3 showers a week, brush our teeth once a day, one shit per day and maybe 2 pisses per day, that we we conserve water and not waste it by flushing or faucet use pound:.

Oh...we keep our dish washing to a minimal as well
