Name tags work cuz that's how we did it. I think you're confusing it with how to identify people if you walk into an establishment looking for a party. These were always private events. The restaurant meetings were just reservations under one name and had no "apparel" requirements so as to blend in with every other patron.

I have attended a couple of these "parties" which I was very hesitant to do, but after was very happy I did attend. Met some lovely ladies, and a few really funny perberts. In my case it was a super sexy lady that asked me to attend, or I may not have gone.....

I attended several of the VCA gatherings when Van Wilder was in charge. Met many great ladies and men. Great times those days

Yup....they was fun.....and yes we did post pictures right here on Perb....with consent of those who did participate.
I think you should probably be a bit more selective in who you invite before setting a day and time particularly if it's your place. If it was a public place everyone would feel welcome to attend. Whereas with a private place it would feel more like I have no business inviting myself there. I guess I might be old fashion in that respect.
I'd support Lucy's generous offer to host at her place.
No cameras and all phones shut off would be my expectation as far as rules are concerned.
Otherwise a booked room at a hotel, bar or restaurant might work too :nod:

I have to concur... though I probably wouldn't attend something in a more public venue.
However, I think there are also wise words from PierreCoeur about selectivity. That one is Lucy's call if it is held at her place.
Couple of questions
1). I'm big boned. Will there be crane service to get me into the apartment?
2). Can I request diabetic friendly foods? Like dust?
3). Can we seperate the room between cut and uncut dicks? Uncut dicks are so 2014 and gross.

about 10 years ago... or so..... PERB had series of PA (Perbert Anonymous) meetings.
First meeting had just 3 participants .... last #10 close to 100. We took over The Drake that night.
It was always fun..... you still can find some historical posts.... just search for "PA minutes".
PA meetings were always held in a public spaces so it was just an open invitation posted to all who read PERB.... posters or not.
Later meetings went into more private format, but most of the boards have ( or had ) them ( at one time, I was at the meeting organized by a board in Seattle.... they rented a whole ballroom in a downtown hotel. )
So, yes it is possible, yes it is great fun..... but yes.... it has to be ORGANIZED.
ps... and one other thing..... people who know themselves in person.... usually fight less online. PA meetings ( and recently VCA meetings that some people already mentioned ) had a magical way of making friends

The Portland Board used to have quarterly meet and greets, most of them were at public places, in a semi-private room.
I've made many friends, I even met my ATF at one of the events and we dated for 5 years.
Used to be that you had to signed up as a guy, or you can get an invite directly by a woman.
Karaoke or disco bowling were always popular too.
