This mother didn't take kindly to her son participating in the Baltimore protests and riots that happened in response to the death of Freddie Gray. The angry Baltimore mom recognized her masked son throwing rocks at police on television. That didn't sit well with her. The video shows the mother repeatedly striking her boy, chasing him as he tries to walk away.

Not great parental skills, but she definitely got her message across and she was correct in abolishing him.

Loved it and I wish more parents would reign in their wayward rioters in the same way.

Orioles/White Sox game Wednesday will be closed to the public. That is something that used to happen only for European/South American football games.
watched part of it on tv,weird to see all the empty seats.think they had mics near the dugouts cuz that was all the cheering you heard.

dunno if they did the 7th inning stretch?

also,I think the O's home games vs TB are being switched to Tropicana where Balt. will be designated as home team.so few come to the Trop it won't make a difference.

They might have done the 7th inning stretch because there were 3 people in the stands. All three were MLB scouts who were there to scout the Orioles or White Sox.

There was no walk up music, but they played a recording of the national Anthem and Take me out to the ballgame as part of the "7th inning stretch".

The official boxscore did not list the attendance, but did show a playing time of 2:03 for the game.

I wondered why there were pics of an empty stadium all over the news. Now I understand.

Not mother of the year.

I also noticed no attendance figure in the box score.I think that, officially, they'd have to include season ticket holders as (absent) attendees.

a stadium/arena could be sold out but still have a few empty seats due to no-shows.

might well be wrong on this.

I cannot address the lack of an attendance figure, mainly because this has never happened in about 150 years.

I know that I have been to many A's games (mostly on cold Monday or Tuesday nights) and there were clearly less than 1000 people, yet the box score would usually say about 10,000. So clearly season ticket-holders are counted (as paid attendance).

Who knows why there was no attendance listed?
