I got this email, and so did a couple of my friends. It looks very realistic and will fool a lot of people.

It says CRA wants to send you money and there are spaces to fill in your SIN, your birthdate and full name. This is pure identity theft gold!

NEVER give your SIN to anyone. CRA does not need your SIN, they already have all this information. I am so pissed because my friend's mom, who is 82, was just about to send this in. Fuck I hate scammers and wish they could be executed for shit like this.

I got the same one a while ago ..... Via text message from an area code in Oregon??

I like the way you think about scammers and spammers doing their phishing attempts. I report them to PayPal, Apple, Shaw, Amazon etc etc but the volume is only increasing these days. Blocking their domains is the next step on the black list.

Problem is domains are cheaper and more disposable than cell phones. Even if they get shut down within hours they still make enough to make it worth it.
I know. I could spend all day going through my inbox folder culling out the bullshit. Easier just to put them in the Spam Folder and ignore it.

I got the same email a few weeks ago. Just laughed when I saw it and called a friend who works from CRA and she looked into it for me :)

Hmm I got it too. I never follow up with companies that email me like this, as I get MANY !! On all my emails. It seems I win a cruise to the Bahamas on my work cell every other week as well, and the other day I was randomly selected for free stay at the merriot hotel !! Yay  I worked for a few marketing companies when u was younger, and Stsyed for long periods as I found out young that I'm quite good at selling stuff. Penny stocks news papers. Magazines. You name it I sold it. So the first thing I ask when they call is --" do you only make money if I agree to purchase, or is there a time limit for keeping me on the phone? Do you get anything at all for keeping me on the phone ? " if not then I tell them to have a great day good luck and move on. Scammers suck !!

I delete any email that do not recognize. I'll give it quick glance and that's about it. If it isn't any email from my friends list.....it's gone ( delete ).
