So, a few days after I got stood-up by buko lady #1 (see my previous buko post), I called the other, younger one (yeah, the pressure was up) and booked a half-hour.
Location was not bad, kind of tight (the massage space, not the lady) but she is as advertised. I wanted to find out about the service offered before any dollars changed hands and sp's usually won't discuss that over the phone. It struck me that it must be a very special kind of half-hour massage at twice the rate most everyone else charges for an hour.
So, I asked her what was going to happen and she said, "A massage." and quoted the price. She was pleasant and not pushy but wouldn't expand on that. I said something about extras and she said that tips covered that. My response was something like, "For a $100 half-hour, I want extras included." She shrugged and I departed her shop.
Maybe I'm just getting old and grouchy as well as cheap but there are several good providers in the city who will do massage and very much extra for that much money. I don't want to give you a bad impression of the lady or the location – those were good - but for me, the base price is too high and leaves no room for those extras or even a real tip for a great massage. Am I reacting badly here? Opinions, guys. M.
