I still think so much of this story is about more then meets the eye
If he is this abusser of women why has know one pressed for hom to be charged

In our society where there us enough info out there as to what is acceptable ..and that the abuss is a chargeable offence.. then why are women still feeling like they can not go to the police..

This attitude that so many have that they think they are tye only one.. by now I though most women know there are others..

I still don't know what to make of JG ..it obvious some of these stories are false.. and there was consent. . Other maybe he did go over the line...In the heat of he moment
Each party is going to remember it differently. .

The fact that his sexual eploit's have been going on for over 15 yrs.. There must if been word around about him. ..If women were not into that why would they get into sexual situations with h

I not sure if No of us here can .judge this situation . Knowing our selves. Or having a limited amount of info..Each side trying to show they are the victim. .

Because it seem nothing can be done in one off situation. As most women all so seem to do.

I personally do t know what other guys have done on date.. yes heard some stories...I never been in a dating situation or relationship .. that proceed to sex of any kind..
I see escort .. and nothing ever happens that the two partied don't agree is ok.

Maybe a few people can put this in perspective.. first off I do see a pattern fro. JG.. He can read women..and does not know what is appropriate behavoiur .. that dones not excuse sexual assault.. or violence ..Next I see that it seem that most many if not most women have been sexually assaulted on a date.. weather it was thier first date .. or later on date.. even though they may have had sex at some point before. . Unwanted or violet sex acts are still rape and violence against women. No matter how you look at it.. but men look at it different then their date.. .hence why so much off if still is happening.
Other side is some women get off on exactly what the women dicribed in her story
And there are many guy who have do some or all of that and more. . When she says "no"..whdn it's forced and violet with out consent....then it is some thing a person should be prosecuted for..
Is this what every one thinks should happen?

The question goes far beyond the JG situation.. it played out a thousands of time every day .
And if you are an advocate for the new prostitution law. .then you would allso say that all the men here are no better then JG .because we are .perverts.. rapist a d commit violets against women every time we pay to see an escort...
How many people men and women know where the line begins and ends

Huh? Come again?

The whole crux of this is regarding consent. The relationship between a punter and a SP is arguably one of the most demonstrably consensual of any. An ST advertises her menu and her restrictions, a punter agrees, and the deal is sealed with cash.

Which is about as far removed from the JG situation as any I can think of

JG is able to read women ?????? The impression I'm getting is that JG is preying on younger women ... 20 years younger than him and of the women he has dated 8 did not like his ... approach.
JG does not know what is appropriate behavior ????? If you read his facebook post he argues that there was consent ... yet there are 8 women who did not consent ...

I've only heard the story from two of the 8 women but it seems his approach is that of a sudden aggressive assault ...

Anyways ...

Man on women aggressive sex will always be a "shade of grey" ...
I would argue that even if JG had "consent" it would have been coerced ... the use of force or intimidation to obtain compliance

This guy needs to go to jail.

The articles say that in some instances before attacking his victim he turned his teddy bear named "big ears teddy" around, saying that "big ears teddy shouldn't see this."

I wonder what big ears teddy is going to see if Ghomeshi is allowed to bring him along to prison.

Yazoo - you miss his point; it's irony.
This is a genuine quote from a submission to the senate regarding Bill C-36:
"We view prostitution as a form of male violence against women, within a spectrum of men’s violence, alongside rape, incest, wife assault and sexual harassment."
That's their starting point for arguing in favour of the bill; a point accepted as a given fact. Johnsmit's statement was meant as sarcasm.

As interesting as all of this is, it should be noted that the person filling in on Q has been doing a perfectly adequate and informative job.
Here's the thing about Ghomeshi - he's a media personality, yes - but he's not that special. The CBC has a wealth of talent to draw on and a few months from now nobody will miss him.

It's going to be difficult to fault the CBC for firing him when the public relations company he hired to help defend his honour also just fired him as their client. That says something...

i agree with you. one only has to look at the alternative action - him ignoring it or burying it until his accusors came public - how would THAT look?

he would have NO leg to stand on. he may be defending a bullshit position - the position of consensual rough sex - but at least now he has put his accusers in the position of having to disprove HIS point, rather than him having to disprove THEIR point

until it is settled in a court of law (or settled outside a court of law), it's all he said - she said... so i'm not picking any sides about who has done anything wrong. so far he has avoided any slut-shaming tactics and simply stated that the acts were consensual - i'll begrudgingly give him that much

but as melody has accurately pointed out, he is pretty much made himself unemployable

get out in front of the story, put your own story out there before any one else does put them on the defense.
I see they have parted ways.

from a guy who's father was jailed for rape twice, you want to believe when someone denies it.
But they are very good at manipulating and lying.
And quite often on the surface to the public they look squeaky clean, its a face they put on. They learn how to be a predator.

Any allegations of sexual harassment should actually be taken very seriously, not simply dismissed because the guy on the surface looks like Mr. Clean.
If he did it once chances are there are a trail of victims, so far nine, I think two have actually given there name.

But someone shouldn't really be tried on the court of public opinion especially a public figure because that is what they do best. Manipulate public opinion.

I am trying to think there was a guy in the uk maybe five years ago very public an actor or some dam thing but he was molesting people for decades and no one knew, Dam his name escapes me.
