Victoria, BC
I'm a huge sushi fan, though I've been told over and over that Victoria doesn't have good sushi. What places should I hit up for sushi in Vancouver?

Hi Olivia

Enjoy your visit to Vancouver! :D

I ilke Sushi Bella. One on Davie in Vancouver and one on Lonsdale in North Van.

Tojo's on 12th is a perennial favourite. Bit pricey but definitely worth the experience.

BTW you are correct, Victoria does not have very good sushi :(

It just means I have to check out all those places you told me about and get a craft beer while I am at it

try Kishimoto Sushi on Commercial Drive. Small place and impeccable quality. Always very busy.

The Eatery is the place to go just cause the atmosphere.

After years of searching I think that Nanaimo Sushi on Nanaimo street and hastings street is one of the best I've found.
Can get pretty busy on a Friday/Saturday evening and if you don't mind waiting 15 mins or so for a table it is defiantly worth trying.

In Stevenson: Ichiro. In the same vicinity as Pajo's and Dave's Fish and Chips.

Downtown: Oysi Oysi. I believe that it's on Alberti, south of Bute Street.

On Alberni, West side of the street, North of Thurlow, South of Bute.

Happy dining!

Tim McGee.

How does that work ? Thurlow and Bute both run North / South. Alberni runs East / West.

There are many great Sushi restaurants. My fave by far is Shizen Ya on West Broadway and Hornby. Fresh is an understatement.

right here and now
For those of you in the Valley, Maru Sushi in Langley City is very good. And, Ta-Ke Sushi in the Panorama Ridge east plaza- HWY 10/152 St.- is also excellent as well.

Blue water cafe. It's more expensive than other places, but good quality. Also, I can get other great seafood as well as awesome cocktails from the bar!

Second this! :)
Third!

Kishimoto is excellent. The line up is definitely well worth it.

Not going to go......fourth..........but excellent food and cute waitresses. Went for lunch today with BA, waitress tells me what a nice wife I have. Then I showed her a picture of my wife, told her BA was my mistress......poor kid didn't know what to do/say. BA was killing herself laughing.....situation normal.

In Your Wildest Dreams!
He's just got his directions screwed up. Oysi Osyi is fantastic and it's located on Alberni (south side of street) between Thurlow and Bute.

There's another hidden gem, Sushi Den, 609 Abbott Street, just down from Rogers Arena. It's my favourite right now, super fresh and great prices. Evangeline that's really close to you if your looking for something nearby.
It's really close to me too (when I am in Vancouver), and I have been craving sushi for days! I'll be going there next Wednesday now, guaranteed! :D Do they use sockeye only for their sashimi? My favourite local to me place is Village Sushi on Fraser Highway in Hillcrest Village. They guarantee only sockeye in all their salmon dishes. Generous big portions too!

Damn...who wants to take me out for sushi tomorrow night? :D
