Birthday dinner recommendations

So, its my birthday this week, and my pals are pestering me to pick a place to go for dinner. I have friends of all financial situations, so something that could be affordable for everyone would be preferred. DT, Main st, or commercial drive would be my first neighbourhoods of choice.
I'm seriously at a loss.
Oh, I like fun drinks. With crazy garnishes and umbrellas. Shameful Tiki is on the short list. Think tapas.

Go to some funky pizza place....lot's of them on Main

lots of tapas choices, small items and sharables.
great cocktail choices, though not so many umbrellas - you'll have to hit tiki for those. think rum, tequila, sugar, ginger.
a fun and festive atmosphere.

Maybe assign everyone a fun 'bring along'? You bring the party hats, someone else brings the umbrellas, a third brings the lays....errrrr, leis! :eyebrows:

I' surprised to didn't recommend The Fat Badger an alberni st where Le Gavroche used to be

If its pizza/with a little italian got to commercial drive. Lombardos best pizza but weird location not the best for a big group, or Marcello's big place nice interior good for a large group pizza isn't as good as Lombardos

Happy birthday! Two people close to me are celebrating this week as well. You Virgos are something else. Totally like your "type" to want to plan this all out.

There are many fabulous restaurants, I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for. However, I have to chime in regarding the Shameful Tiki Lounge... I went there in the spring with a girlfriend and would definitely NOT recommend their food. Maybe things have changed since we were there but their cheese plate was basically a lump of cream cheese and some herbs with generic crackers... We also ordered something else (can't remember what) and it was equally disappointing. The drinks were good and the atmosphere was fun but don't plan to have your dinner around there.

I believe the Shameful Tiki house on Main St would all all the right buttons for you and your friends budget and fancy drinks etc. happy birhtday
