Has anyone hired a lawyer for a serious traffic violation? What do they normally charge and are they normally successful?

Used this guy when my son got caught speeding on radar and he had an 'N' and was 2 months from getting his full license ... would have had to start the 2 year waiting period and 'N' process over. Cost 3500.00 but he beat the ticket. Stanley Nozick - Surrey/Whiterock ....

There are some that specialize in DUI and violations of criminal codes etc.

The nominal rate for the average is $350 - $450 per hour.

If it is something quite serious, I would pay the $3 - $4 K and be done with it rather than going in alone.

I have successfully fought moving violations and other tickets by just showing up for court. Most times the officers take really shitty unintelligible notes when attending which would embarrass them in court. They never want to be embarrassed in court so they often will ask for a delay in proceedings so they can get their notes together. All I had to say on both offences was I am very busy and can not attend further delays in court. The judges sided with me both times.

I would not suggest doing this for a really serious offence.
