Often posters attribute flagged off ads to the competition doing it, but what is more likely is that the poster is violating posting rules without even realizing it and being flagged for it by hundreds of different people (readers as well as other posters who have their ads pushed down the page by those posting way more than what is permitted by the rules). Posting from multiple accounts (email addresses) and violating frequency rules are two common problems as well as one needs to keep in mind that is an American firm so the content rules are strict as well. There is no erotic category so ads must be worded to avoid seeming to be offering sex for money. CL ads are not viewed prior to posting so many break rules and before they get flagged off, others copy the errors made thinking that is what is accepted and eventually get flagged off as well. The more flagged off ads one has, the lower the threshold goes which means it takes fewer and fewer flags to remove ads so giving the account a rest from posting for a few days (so the threshold can go back up again) is usually a good idea. The site also lowers the threshold for the TS category drastically sometimes in order to make it easier to remove prohibited ads (by flagging) and hopefully cause the posters to learn the rules and post by them in future.A R&T shop owner friend of mine advertises on CL.
One of her former employees started up a competing shop not far from hers.
Then relentless unending flagging by the former employee of my friend's ads started.
A complaint report was sent to CL administrators, but no steps were taken to curtail the very evident abuse.
CL has no means for handling such situations. Theirs is entirely an automated system.
In fact, the flagger is assumed to be in the right, and can eventually block another users account.
There is no stopping it.
It is far more likely that those who lose ads to flags on CL are violating rules. Just a few of the common ones might be:I was talking about on CL. I hope it's ok I said this about that site. There is no option to flag ads on Backpage so it's only possible for ads to be reported and then once staff views the ad, it will be removed if it violates rules. My ads have been removed from backpages, after being flagged. Considering I more than comply with their guidelines, it's purely malicious behavior. Backpages is not required to explain the infraction. But any random person can flag the ad.
As for cl, well recently I read about flagging software that can be purchased. In Nanaimo rumor has it that some of the agencies use it to flag the ads of independent women who use cl to advertise. In a way of limiting competition. Essentially giving no selection for the fellas, increasing their own traffic. Otherwise it takes several, and I mean several, flags from separate ip addresses to remove a post. I know this from having a heated debate with the cl moderators after attempting to flag a post encouraging a young man to commit suicide. That post stayed up for a total of 31 hrs!
I would just write the site using the contact us form with a link to your ad and ask why it was removed. The rules for photos are strict, but unless you ask why it was removed, you'll be guessing and that won't help you fix your ad. Never make assumptions about why an ad is removed. You might be totally wrong and then never get to fix what the problem is. Those are paid ads so you have a right to know why your ad was removed.Excuse my choice of language, you are correct it's considered reporting an ad. As recently as two days ago, my bp ad was "community removed". It is the exact ad I reposted. I don't believe the staff has time to actually review the ad, prior to removal. Honestly it just gets pulled. When you post an ad, it gets reviewed, And the opportunity given to rectify any errors, or violations. If I am reposting the exact ad, it would have never survived the posting process.
The even sadder part could be that when a woman has a stalkerish type client, they have the ability to wreak havoc. I've experienced this first hand, and you are at their mercy.
hmmmm... sounds a bit like some of the complaints the men have over poor service - so i guess we're all in the same boat sometimes...and if you pay you should at least get customer service and have some client protection. Otherwise forget it I pay nothing for being ripped off because if your reposting 5 different times and everything is ok and then all of a sudden your ad get removed thats complete bullshit and basically they robbed me .Backpage will rob you and no wonder they won't respond because they got their money and they don't give a shit what happens after that.
No doubt there are many posters on CL whose ads are violating rules, and that these folks comprise the near absolute of those being flagged. It is far more likely that those who lose ads to flags on CL are violating rules.
nope definitely not your service - just commenting on the similarities of the language used... 'once they have your money the service ends' complaintI hope you don't mean my poor service :fear:
Those complaints don't apply to me I may not be perfect but I am not duplicitous Im SOL if I accept to be treated like a human being on that back page
Im going to advertise on craigslist and see if I get flagged Sonny . You could ask her put up an ad with her name but a different photo like an obvious fake one with a full face . Draw the fucker out...
Men will flag and/or report ads with fake photos heavily, so it's never wise to counsel someone to post fake photos in their ads. It would only hurt their account on any site (as well as their reputation with their potential clients). These days clients have lots of ways of finding out if the photos in an ad might be fake.I hope you don't mean my poor service :fear:

Those ads are free in Canada and if your account is strong, you can just post a new ad. A change of heading and reordering sentences will avoid getting blocked. Anyone can flag ads for any reason at all regardless of whether or not the ad violates a rule, but it is really foolish to do so without a good faith belief the ad breaks rules because then the person just top posts their ad and assuming their account is pretty strong, all the flagger has accomplished is that they get you to move your ad to the top of the index which can only benefit you, not hinder you in the least.I would just not bother with CL flagging has been going on for years. It is worth the money to pay for advertisement, and there are plenty of places to advertise without the hassle.
