Back in the late 60s - to the early 80s, guys pushed pretty aggressively because there was a belief that the pill solved everything and the woman had agreed to a level of sexual contact by dating the guy.
Most guys would stop if confronted with pantyhose and the woman saying she didn't want to. Pantys can be pushed aside. Of course, some guys can't be stopped.

Honestly, this is some pretty flawed logic. I highly doubt that a thin layer of nylon or otherwise stops a rapist from committing rape, morality aside. Which is what date rape is. It's not like pantyhose are made out of chainmail. Just like it's kind of weird to use the logic that 'panties can be pushed aside', because they're not this magical unremoveable force that only can be moved a matter of inches.
Frankly that article reeks of rape apology and excuses to somehow deflect blame from the act itself.
The rapes that are reported of tourists in India? Guess What? They are really happening. The gang rape of the ABC TV reporter in Egypt? Guess What? Rape is a spectator sport in Egypt.
You should ask a woman my age about pantyhose in the 60s- 80s. Social norms in the West have reduced the incidence and improved the reporting of rape. That is not the case in countries where the victim is punished and the perpetrator walks away with a smile.

Pantyhose stop the guy that still wants to be able to talk to her. Nothing stops the guy that doesn't care. Besides, he stopped before actual penetration and said "Okay, calm down. I'll stop raping you. Sheesh. I'm taking you home."

Again, I highly doubt this magical layer of polyester is preventing rapists from continuing to talk to their victims after, seeing as 60% of date rapes are committed by people that the victim is already familiar with.
I was raped in 1981. It was someone I knew. I had turned 16 a week before. It took place in the back of a van in my parent's driveway one night when they were out. The Three Friendly Rapists were older (early 20s) and they dropped by. Even though I didn't want to have sex with the ringleader, I did, because he asked if maybe I thought my 13 year old sister would rather play along. He had two friends in the house with her, so she'd stay inside and not bother us. Then he blew a load on my face and pushed me out onto the driveway. I don't recall pantyhose factoring into the equation at all.
I grew up in the 70s and 80s. The idea that pantyhose MAY have stopped ONE rape in ONE reported case I'm willing to believe. I don't believe pantyhose are a deterrent to rape (or ever have been) any more than I believe that the death penalty is a deterrent for murder.
Pantyhose are definitely better to wear with mini skirts, and they were made of stronger stuff back then. Now it is so cheap you get a run putting them on for the first time. I try to find the 20 denier but, difficult. Stay ups are nice, if they stay up. A little moisturizer on the thighs helps the plastic 'grip'. Hard to find really serious garters, like, not fluff and stuff. if I wear a long skirt I like to wear garters and stockings, but tough to find functional stuff. Also, love to get my hands on real silk stockings. a woman sold them in a small shop in Vancouver until a few years ago, now i can't find 'em.
Even the "Control Top" pantyhose these days aren't as thick as the panty part was when I was a teen.
^thanks! I will definitely look that up. Yeah, I hate control top pantyhose..it's like wearing a straight jacket around your hips. I liked the totally nude with no panty lines I could find in the eighties...you could wear really, really short skirts with slits up the side
A place I have been looking at too is Dollhouse Bettie! They have several styles that they call "Eternity Stockings" and they are VERY pricy, but if they are as indestructible as they claim, well worth it!!!
I get it that pantyhose are not your thing, Dickson, thus you should request stockings/stay-ups only. But it may surprise you to know that, not only do I get some requests for pantyhose (not stockings) but, if I don't have any available, the gentlemen in question will go to the store and buy me some for our session!
You gotta remember that your experience isn't everyone's experience!
