Who's idea was it to develop the concept of panty hose. There should be an unwritten rule that a SP should not be allow to wear pantyhose. Real nylons will only do in the future.

Back in the late 60's or early 70's I don't know which Joe Namath wore pantyhose. Sadly I don't know why he did but I remember he did.

He probably did and he wouldn't have been the only one. When growing up in Alberta, before lycra, and I used to wear pantyhose under my work clothes to help keep clothing wet from snow from sticking to my legs and making me colder. It was also effective to prevent the binding effect of wet or sweaty clothes which would probably be the main reason Joe and others would have worn them. Of course no one would ever admit that he wore them, given the prevalent homophobia of those times.

The availability of modern fabrics which stretches and wicks away moisture has superseded the need to borrow/steal your wife's/mothers old pantyhose.

When I was a kid we would wear them under our pants when we went skating, kept the legs warm without bulk. Mind you west coast cold is a lot different than ROC.

thats what i was told as a child ...that many football players wore them under their uniforms to stay warm

silk actually worked way better than nylon for warmth - but modern light-weight fabrics are definitely where it's at

i used to have a garter-belt-and-stockings fetish but i rarely ask for them any more

Not to argue the point, but I am old enough to understand to etymology of nylons which for us older guys involve great memories. Before pantyhose girls wore stockings. At first these were silk, but as nylon became available this fabric replaced silk and nylons stockings or nylons came into vogue. Girls wore girdles with these to keep them up. Some even wore them under jeans. Good memories of sliding your hand up a nylon clad leg to find the top and what lay beyond.

As always nylons are the best.

If I were to wear stockings I would use my garter belt to hold them up. Stay ups are great since u do not have to wear garters with them, hence the term stay up.

I hate pantyhose. I've only worn them twice in my life, once at grade 2 Christmas concert and once working (by request) they're uncomfortable as hell. But I love stockings and stay ups. Agent Provocateur has a good selection & their stay ups actually stay up.

Pantyhose were necessary in 1968 - 1972 when women were wearing mini skirts. One visually pantyhose presented no panty lines. Two it's a lot harder to rape a woman wearing panty hose.

Silk Stockings and the early Rayon stockings were made on a machine that required a seam to be sewn. The stocking was then shrunk over a frame. The ability of Nylon to stretch allowed a machine that knitted a tube to be used which eliminated the seam.

What made the garter belt unnecessary is the invention of artificial materials like silicon elastic.

However a woman wearing silk stockings with seams held up with a garter belt is still much sexier than a woman wearing a pair of thigh high hold ups.

Can you tell me where you found this fact? I'm genuinely curious. I control-F'ed all three of your links and the word "rape" doesn't show up anywhere. Did my own quick google search and found nothing either.
