Who owns a thread...?

More than a few times, I have seen comments like this...

"why are you posting in my thread?"

or

"stay away from my thread if you can't agree with me..."

I may not have been around here long enough to fully know the rules of forum life but, when you start a thread, do you own the thread? Is the thread really 'yours'? Do you have a say as to who contributes to it, or what they add? Am I missing something? Did I not get the memo?

When I start a thread, I am looking for the community to engage in a topic I find interesting. I enjoy hearing the various opinions of the members here. I avoid threads I find disturbing, I typically avoid confrontation (unless provoked), and I am open to whatever way the thread evolves, as they tend to do.

Your thoughts, please...



This thread was started as a direct result of my thread. So, I consider this an attack on me. Especially, considering the remarks that it is already getting. Good for you!

I apologized to you SA. That should be good enough. Apparently, it isn't.

I do feel a post is open game. I don't think you should monopolize the thread. I consider that just trying to get attention.

Haha...this thread doesn't belong to me, remember. I simply asked for the community's input and I'm enjoying it immensely. And no, this topic has been brewing in me for some time and, although it was not in direct competition with any other thread, my concerns were exacerbated by the recent behaviour of a few members in a few threads. As someone said, Fred own the threads and, if a thread is deleted, only he can make that happen, not any of us lowly members, no matter how long we've been around...

PS If the aforementioned Twister game ensues, would you be so kind as to provide video?

i finally decided to join Perb a few days ago. i posted a review in the wrong place i guess.
